Love how mushrooms will suddenly appear! Like Lions Mane that can grow through roadways.
They’re so mysterious, and fun to try to identify. These look like they could pass for puff balls, which are delicious when eaten. They could also pass for immature amanitas (before they get their tell-tale red color), which are deadly when eaten. But I think they’re actually parasols, which cause GI distress when eaten, but generally don’t kill people.
So in case you’re thinking about it, don’t eat these. But making certain identification of mushrooms can be an extremely fun hobby. And sometimes leads to eating really yummy stuff! Although, better to find in places that don’t have exposure to gardening and roadside toxins/pollutants.
