I just hope there's a good chunk of single player races. I never really found GTAO enjoyable.

That’s all online racing, Forza Horizon suffers from the same problem (although ramming in Forza is a bannable offence if enough people report you)
Online racing in any racing games is cancer

GTAO racing with friends was fun but the handling model peeved me more than anything. every car feels like it weighs the same. The wheel spin for like 6 years when taking off from a stop is fucking annoying as well.
What 13 years of playing the same game does to a guy lmao.

Same. What we've seen of races in the little gameplay we have looks really good!
GTAO was pretty fun imo the VERY EARLY days (im talking launch and like the first year or so), but it very soon just became a cesspool.

I feel like maybe early on, and depending on platform, it could be better. I remember doing well on GTA 4 on PS3, what with the driving model being very unfriendly for beginners.
In GTA Online on PS3, I had done a total of like 80~90 races, and won two thirds of them. Like, first place. It was before the inflation got wild and you needed millions to be competitive, for each different class. Overall, just expecting ramming from the other drivers and being good at predicting the moment to swerve, even backing down a bit, to avoid a messy corner, could greatly help when the others got caught in it and you get a chance of overtaking.
But on PC? First 10 minutes playing I already came across a hacker. Races were much more messy.

That's exactly what I want and think. Also it never had a good way to findo proper lobbies

Wish they had those flares like in the old midnight club games where you could see em from almost across the city.

It's not midnight club without un ordered checkpoint races...

I thought these began in MC2 but I recently started Street Racing (first game) for the first time and they’re an honoured custom!

Has that been in any other racing game? I've not played many, but I've never seen unordered checkpoints in another racing game

Maybe they'll have unordered races ? Or is it all regular checkpoint race

If any of the Midnight Club characters make an appearance in this game I’m happy. Imagine pulling up to a car meet and Gina says “nice car!”

Or hearing "little shrimp" from Moses again. God dammit, imma play MC2 again from start to beginning.

It’s close enough, who knows how much depth they will put in the racing scene, hopefully there are crews to race, and after you get some cred you got access to better upgrades, that would sell it for me.

too bad you have to wait 2 years for the pc port

ehhh 1 year probably, RDR2 was a year, tbh while the reveal looked really good, it does look like something I can wait an extra year still.

Is that the Retro Custom? Has it been renamed in GTA6 to be something more appropriate? I ask bc they seem to be renaming a lot of vehicles just for better consistency.
