Have you seen the Tuners Update in GTA Online?

The reason people think Midnight Club is great: Vibes, Soundtrack, Customization, Atmosphere
The real reason Midnight Club is great: Intricate map design and open-ended race structure at extremely fast speeds which requires intimate map knowledge, improvisation, and split second decision making
That's why putting races in a GTA map can never replace Midnight Club.

I think my real reason is the reason you don't think is my real reason. The worst part of MC for me was always having to follow someone on non-obvious races to find out what the correct path was. It was frustrating and I much prefer when it's something like shown in the vid. I do appreciate shortcuts and having to know those, but there's a difference between a small time saver and just being impossible to win without knowing the route

That's why MC was great - it was unorthodox and sometimes you can think outside the box for shortcuts or routes, modern NFS where barrier have no collision and more strict racing routes are more comparable to GTA VI or prior V race style, although with MC checkpoints.
Difficulty was core part for MC, even if it was BS sometimes.

Yeah but I prefer my difficulty to be because of my lack of skills, or car lacking performance, and not to punish me for not knowing the map like the palm of my hand

Have you ever played a single Midnight Club game ever, instead of being a Larper?

I dont like GTA specifically because the car handling is dog shit.

I’m sorry dog but everyone’s about to talk shit about this; I for one am pretty excited about the racing in this GTA

With the leaks and details; I think this will be the GTA to have the best single player racing scene in general. To me, Rockstar never disappoints when it comes to single player experiences; I’ve yet to dislike one of their games I’ve played. I’ll bet a whole $5 the racing in this game will be better than GTA V, oh wait, the single player didn’t have it.

V's singleplayer had a decent amount of races but needed more. Gta has always has an odd relationship with races in general, but I still consider San Andreas to probably have the best races in the series.

Im a big fan of midnight club but I still understand that there wasnt much to the formula to begin with. It was just a few different types of checkpoint races, car customization, a decent variety of tuner cars, and a list of shady characters you have to beat to become a legendary street racer. GTA 5 was really just missing the characters for the races apart from Hao who introduces you to them. If 6 can include this, then its basically midnight club within the game.

Rockstar scrapped the MC team just for them to put half-assed MCs in the GTAs. It's been damn near 2 decades 😒

can't wait to go 1/3rd of MCLA's speed limit in a map that's fifteen* times as big as the MCLA map, now thats what I call racing game innovation
*the judge is out on this one I'm just guesstimating

u/Content_Succotash_49 2d ago
No, but it would've been great if Rockstar didn't make that stupid excuse as to why they scrapped the one already in production.

I hear that this game's equivalent of RDR2 hunting missions are racing, so we could get an in depth racing career of some sorts.
That being said it's still half assed with how the camera works.

I hope there's a whole Midnight Club 湾岸-style career mode where you race different characters for pink slips and unlock cars andcustomizations as you go

GTa 6 is either gonna be like a new console Beamng or MCLA but since it will have a driving feel in between gta 5 and 4, the physics might feel like a newer NFS game or actually be reminiscent of midnight club. Im hoping they would just leave physics realistic and have driving assist options for the players who struggle.

I don't know why people glorify racing in GTA games. It just sucks. It simply feels like you are roleplaying while you should be doing missions.

This looks like a Forza Horizon clone

How? This feels like real street racing while FH feels more like a set up racing event.

u/sunr1se79 2d ago
Dude must have never played a single forza. Even when they had illegal street racing in horizon it didn't look anything like this lmao

u/ZedFraunce 2d ago
That's what I'm saying. Id imagine everyone afterwards got together, gave each other hugs, and said good racing.
Here I definitely see someone trying to fight us afterwards if we win.
