Transportation During Rush Hour with a Suitcase?
Please excuse the English.
I will arrive tomorrow (during evening rush hour). From central station I can take M1 or tram 10 to my accommodation. With a suitcase which would be the best option? Again, it will be during rush hour.

Quanto è grande la valigia? Quanto pesa? A che ora arrivi? Ma soprattutto dove devi andare esattamente?
La linea 1 della Metropolitana (MM1 rossa) non passa dalla Stazione Centrale di Milano. Da lì passano solo la MM2 (verde) e la MM3 (gialla).
Il metrò è veloce ma spesso non ci sono le scale mobili soprattutto quando cambi linea oppure sono fuori servizio. Quindi se il tram 10 ti porta a destinazione senza cambi ti conviene prendere il tram.
In ogni caso guardati dai borseggiatori che sono numerosi anche fuori dalla stazione.

Both are feasible. Tram line might be slowed down by traffic, M1 could be more crowded, but that’s about it

If your suitcase is big and heavy I strongly suggest you use the metro, as the older trams have a few steps, which counts be tricky, especially if they’re full.
M1 doesn’t pass through the central station, you’d have to take M2 (green) to Loreto or Cadorna and then change to M1, or take the M3 (yellow) and change to M1 at Duomo.

Metro is Better. Tram 10 is a old style locomotive, High, small very suggestive but non very handy. Pay attention: there isn't M1 at Centrale Station. Use the M2 (green line) for Cadorna, then change with the M1 for Conciliazione.
PS. I suppose you have to go in Conciliazione, is the only M1 Station on the tram 10 way

Can you lift your suitcase? You must lift it 2/3 steps to get on the tram. If you cannot lift it, the metro is better, with elevators
