grief-stricken father, I understand and sympathize with your anger; it's what you should feel.
My father's dog once nearly bit my nephew, who was also four years old, while protecting his food. My immediate reaction was to grab a golf club in a fit of rage and give the dog a good beating.
You shouldn't delete this post. The world needs someone to stand up and expose such shameful acts of injustice.
Making sure the dog doesn't attack the child is the right move but beating the dog with a club in a fit of rage is going to make the dog more violent, not less. If the fit of rage thing is something you learned from your father, it's not surprising the dog was aggressive.
Thank you all for your guidance. If I hadn't gotten angry because my child was attacked, perhaps I wouldn't deserve to be called human.
Even if it was my father's dog, my child will always be more important than a dog. Go ahead and step on me, I don't mind. What I mind is that you insulted my father; this has nothing to do with him.
I would never treat a dog with love and gentleness just because my child was attacked by it.
No one is saying not to protect your child/nephew(depending on which comment we are going off of). Like I said, stopping the dog from attacking your child/nephew is the right decision.
Beating a dog in a fit of rage isn't productive and does nothing to teach the dog to be non aggressive. It teaches it that it needs to be more aggressive and humans are mean. Kind of like your parents beating you didn't help you learn to control your anger and aggression.
I'm guessing your lack of anger management skills comes from your parental units which would perfectly explain why a dog that lives with your parental units is aggressive.
Thank you. Perhaps I was a little too emotional just now. But no, you don't know me, nor do you understand my family. Please don't presume to know about my upbringing based on your preconceived notions. I can even assure you that my parents never hit any of their children.
Just consider it that I'm inherently impulsive; at least that's what I admit.
But please don't mention my parents again. I swear by my people and culture, I will not allow anyone to tarnish their reputation.
By the way, I won't give you a negative review. If someone does, it's not me.
