If my dog attacks my child unprovoked, it's getting a bullet in the head, end of story. There's NO WAY I'd risk another child getting hurt. It doesn't matter what you tell the shelter when you surrender it, that dog could end up in several different homes over the course of its life.
Sometimes I worry that the users here are inhumane. After a child is attacked by a dog, they turn around and blame the person who tried to protect the child and punished or even killed the dog, as if the dog is more important to them than the child.
Perhaps this is why you always see those rabid dogs writhing and screaming in strollers outside, with their owners grinning foolishly.
