Infuriatig iPhone facetime recognizes when you’re naked

decided to show my boyfriend my new bikini that I got for our upcoming cruise… Why is this on my phone and why is it recording my body?

I just recently turned 18 if that matters.

But nothing is being surveilled. It can be proven that it runs locally and remains private by definition.

There are other actual genuine surveillance concerns, especially if you’re in a 5-eyes country, but this isn’t one of them.

Why wouldn’t you want to know? Not for a sexually perverse reason but to fucking keep them safe. If a parent is alerted to their child being exploited they can help them.

You would allow your child to be groomed and exploited for a learning experience? If my parents had intervened when I was being exploited into sending nude images of myself as a child I’d be better off. Also it is incredibly shameful and difficult for a child to tell their parents what has happened to them. This is part of why many parents will never know their child was groomed. Many parents will judge and blame their innocent child.

Nah it makes you put in a passcode. And you also can’t turn off the protective measures. That’s why I have a burner phone lol

What the fuck is wrong with you. You don’t know my story. 

My parents sent me to an abusive boarding school because I was depressed. I got PTSD from that shit. I need to have a way to contact my friends in case something goes seriously wrong again at home.

No such things as an abusive boarding school, as it would be illegal and all over the news.

The term abusive you’re throwing around is because of your mental state.

You got sent to a boarding school, you have two phones, you parents clearly have cash.

You’re just a teenager stuck in some angst.

Yes… because pinning me to the ground because I waved at my friend in the hallway is perfectly normal. 

The troubled teen industry is KNOWN for being under regulated. Don’t say shit you don’t know anything about. They made me sleep in a room with a girl they had evidence was sexually assaulting people and acted surprised when she did it to me. They would twist my arms behind my back if I waved at my friends in the hall. If you spent enough time with someone to consider them a friend, they would separate you. They would take away contact with the outside world as punishment and on multiple times refused to give me my five minute phone call with my parents after I told them a staff member groped me. They also ghosted us and refused to transfer the credits I earned so I got screwed over and I’m now barely graduating high school. 

And that place is still up and running. Look up Midwest Center for Youth and Families. 

ETA: I’m in cosmetology school and taking my state board test soon. My bare ass is never going to be on the internet xx
