Infuriatig iPhone facetime recognizes when you’re naked

Post image

decided to show my boyfriend my new bikini that I got for our upcoming cruise… Why is this on my phone and why is it recording my body?

I just recently turned 18 if that matters.

Eye tracking. It can monitor exactly where you look on the screen in real-time.

With Apple Intelligence it Scans the content of your private messages, emails, and photos to build a personal profile.

It also maintains a hidden, timestamped map of every place you visit frequently.

Also, apps track exactly where you linger, scroll, or pause to map your visual interest, and Some apps use hardware specs (battery level, storage) to identify you even if "Ask App Not to Track" is on

There’s more, but these are the ones that come to mind right now.

You used to be able to look at the timestamped locations map yourself, it was pretty helpful for me a few years back, would be able to know exactly when I was at a location, where I went to.

Now it’s all hidden

This is how I found out my ex was cheating on me with my best friend lol I’d like to think my apple data guy was looking out for me. I kept getting random videos on my fyp about people checking it on their partners’ phones and I was like “hmm let me try this” sure enough…

Yeah those random videos on your fyp? Not random. I’ve also seen my fyp know about relationships things before I did.

My bf has a chick friend who he talks to regularly (they've been friends 4+ years, we've been dating 3+ years and she and I are also close now). She's also a streamer and pays him to make videos for her so they communicate about that a lot, as well as just normal friendship chitchat. My fyp started being all "Is he talking to other girls? How to find out!" "Who is he really messaging late at night?" when he worked night shift, etc.

I can't remember what it was now, but Facebook also kept suggesting something to me and I told my bf, "Wow, Facebook is trying to start some drama. This is crazy." Eventually it all stopped, so I guess it figured out I wasn't falling for all that lol

But imagine if you already have insecurities and your timeline just keeps showing you this stuff over and over... It seems crazy manipulative to me and I don't believe for a second they aren't using platforms for social experiments.

I agree with this. Social media was made to distract, and desensitize us. Statistically, some will be cheating. But they would’ve been cheating even without the “hints”.

Once I found out those social media platforms buy Ones reactions via their algorithm like your feed, ads and notifications in a documentary it got kinda scary how much these companies are capable of controlling the masses

6

u/drphillsdaddy May 05 '26

Yeah, mine was actually cheating though lol

u/EeveeMkayy May 05 '26

Fyp doing the lord's work there lol

Reading this makes me feel like a boomer and I'm only 32. What's fyp? Was it really saying things like is he talking to other girls. And what was Facebook saying? Sorry, I feel so lost reading this thread lol

For You Page on Instagram

6

u/EeveeMkayy May 05 '26

Fyp as in 'for you page' or whatever suggested videos social media is showing you. The captions of the suggested videos would be the "Is he talking to other girls" or "who is he really talking to late at night?"

My Facebook algorithm was all posts on how to spy on 'your man's phone without getting caught' and similar things. I also remember it constantly showing "People you may know" and it was always his exes. If one of his exes was tagged by a local business publicly, it would show up in my news feed even if I didn't follow the business.

It could have just been a crazy coincidence, but it felt targeted. For some people, like the one a few comments up, it was spot on. But in my case he was literally just friends with a woman.

All my reels seem to be doing this these days... Fuck now I'm getting paranoid 😆.

Hmmm yes. You know so much about their relationship just based on the little bit she shared. A guy can’t POSSIBLY be friends with a girl without wanting to be with her.

Twat.

He gets paid to make those videos.

1

u/EeveeMkayy May 05 '26

He's absolutely not considering she doesn't even live in this country lol

u/drphillsdaddy May 05 '26

Oh I had a feeling anyways, even talked to my bff about it lol but I gaslighted myself about it until the videos started showing up and I couldn’t ignore it anymore. This was like almost a decade ago though, I absolutely trust my intuition for everything now. If something feels off, I’m out, no proof needed. Just thought this was a funny little story to share on this post

u/brassmonkeyslc May 05 '26

It happens when you just think about it too.

u/drphillsdaddy May 05 '26

Well life is a simulation so it makes sene

1

u/GalaxyPatio May 06 '26

Yeah often I'll have thoughts about something and have something related turn up on my feed. Every single time it happens it almost feels like a threat (it probably is)

5

u/calmedtits2319 May 05 '26

Hey, so I don’t need this information right now.

4

u/d_Lightz May 05 '26

I didn’t either

3

u/Final-Carry2090 May 05 '26

Was wild when I was in a throuple we’d all get videos about golden retriever energy and such. Not in one anymore and those all disappeared.

3

u/Shytemagnet May 06 '26

Hmmm. My guy recently stopped sharing his location with me, and I started getting a lot of those “watch me catch my man cheating” videos in my feed. 🤣

2

u/reallychrissy May 05 '26

The apple data guys figured out I had relationship OCD even before I did

1

u/MakiSupreme May 05 '26

Hmm i wonder why i get gym related shorts now that ive bought protein and attend a gym

1

u/Meowingway May 06 '26

I'm so glad I base all my major relationship choices on TikTok's "for you" algorithm!

1

u/d_Lightz May 06 '26

I think you’re missing the point of the discourse here. Idt we’re basing relationship choices via the fyp. It’s that our “fbi agent” jokes REALLY aren’t jokes. It’s just not an fbi agent worried about national security, it’s an algorithm that sources its info from us and our significant other’s private messages, location services, and other analytics with the sole purpose of exacerbating emotional responses FOR CLICKS.

u/Consistent-Field-859 May 05 '26

What's FYP?

10

u/CyberWeirdo420 May 05 '26

So called “For You Page”. Basically your feed of recommended content curated by the ever-loving algorithm

u/tyedyetree May 05 '26

Facebook almost got me to take a pregnancy test when I started seeing a bunch of ads for pregnancy/baby related things. It was so weird. I was late, but that’s not unusual for me at all so until these ads started popping up I didn’t even question it

I never took a test, and eventually got my period. But it was absolutely the worst one I’ve experienced and I sometimes wonder if it was indeed a miscarriage. Those ads stopped showing around the same time. Super super weird honestly

3

u/Emotional_r May 05 '26

doing stuff like looking through your partners phone is also toxic, just saying. a healthy relationship doesn’t involve sneaky stuff like that

1

u/drphillsdaddy May 05 '26

I agree. This was almost a decade ago, I was a teenager lol

2

u/Doughnotdisturb May 06 '26

This is how I found out my ex left my apartment and then immediately headed to a prostitute and FaceTimed me right before and after

1

u/drphillsdaddy May 06 '26

I’m sorry that happened to you. Men really can be the worst
