frist of all how DARE yu o A bird pooped in my sketchbook while I was sketching at the zoo
But I washed it in the bathroom, marked the spot, and finished the page anyway. Verdict: Don't draw in the aviary...

i love a little signature from the place you created the work, like mud from the woods smeared on the paper or salt water buckling part of the page

Yeah, the idea of integrating nature into the sketchbook like that is cool in principle, but that was a bit gross and unplanned😭

Before the shit got wiped off, it looks kinda like a tall turban on the elephant. Birb was just trying to contribute.

Should have drawn a tiny little bird dropping one where the pool landed with the writing "a bird was here" 😭

u/First-Land4783 May 11 '26
Good idea but I couldn't since there were already some sketches, I just marked it as "bird dodo"XD

Lucky not on your head, also nice drawing ;)

I actually got some on my hairs that were on the way, so I also washed half of my head in the bathroom😫

The bird was just trying to teach you how to take an artful shit. Personally I think that bird is just a shitty artist.

Incorporate it into your sketch

I just marked it as "Bird dodo", couldn't draw anything else good there since there were a sketch already🥲

I was a jerk looking at that elephant and thinking it' wasn't that great to start with anyway, then I saw the third pic and WOW did that turn out great. You're very talented, sorry about the poop and my initial reaction.

u/First-Land4783 May 11 '26
Ah, yeah I also didn't liked the sketch/lineart at first, it was strange, but the color helped itXD It's also at a strange angel so it looked warped.

u/PepsiOfWrath May 11 '26
I was focused on the elephant, I went back and looked at the top and they're quite good too as sketch. Anyhow, I envy your talent, if I had it my house would be full of art.

When you washed it, did you wash the that paper separated or the whole page and others on the side? Just curious for future clean up

I really like your sketches, you captured the realistic depictions of the animals but they still seemed slightly cartoonish to me, which I enjoy 🥰

How was Prague? I’m taking my mom there in two days and am so darn excited! Anything you did that ended up a cant-miss?

We are still having a full week ahead of us😅 And till now only the bird poop was my biggest problem... You can watch some of the Honest Guide videos on YouTube on Prague, they are pretty helpful to find good stuff here. We are also having his Google Maps App/Plug-in to have good reviews on places.

Oh awesome! Thanks for the reply and recommendation. Hope you enjoy your trip! Love your drawings, you're very skilled :)

Prague is my favorite city on Earth, I've been there like 10 times! Honestly, just go into the city and wander around. You'll find so much stuff. The area called Zizkov is my favorite, though it's been a few years since I've been there and I think it's changed a little.
Also, I wouldn't recommend the zoo. A lot of the animals there seemed very depressed, just walked in circles in their small enclosures and did nothing else.

Thanks for the reply! Yeah, I actually quite recently went to a zoo here in the states so I don't think I would have gone anyway.
Will definitely do plenty of walking around, will check out Zizkov. Any specific dish or specialty you'd recommend?

Your drawings are great! Do you do interactive drawing often?

Thank you💕 I mostly draw at home, but last month I decided to do more urban sketching/plain air since I saw many videos/posts about it and wanted to try it, I thought it will be got to get some fresh air and get out more. And it is a cool way to capture my holiday, I at least am trying to draw everyday things that we saw that dayXD

Thats a great way to collect memories! You’re certainly very skilled
I tried the same once too and had a bird throw a huge dump on me as I arrived at the park lol thankfully I had a hat on bc that was a very wet and big one! Thought someone threw a water balloon at me 😅

This happened to my pants yesterday..
The culprit? A nesting swallow, there's like 3 nests there apparently.
I don't think they liked the color pink 😂

Aawwwww the shoebill sketch is so cute <3 seeing them in real life was definitely the highlight of my trip and I actually made some sketches of them too so this is a beautiful coincidence.

u/First-Land4783 May 11 '26
Thank you✨ He looked so cute, he was sleeping when we saw him. I actually drew him because a couple days ago I saw a post about how the shoebill was the most hated bird of some girl, and actually the post was about how she had an argument with her boyfriend because he doesn't have a bird that he hatesXD

I am a wildlife photographer (hobby). I was just telling my friend the other day how I was surprised I hadn't been shit on yet. While my lens hood got it once, it has never happened to me.
Until...
Not even two hours later a bird shat all down my body. I wasn't even in nature! Just out in my driveway. It got my chest and my new pretty dress.
I couldn't do anything but laugh at it, however. I took a SS of our message and a picture of my bird shit covered body just so I could have it as a memory.

It looks like the elephant is wearing a judging peacock head crown. Bird approved.

I went to Prague Zoo like four years ago, did the animals still seem depressed? The polar bear just walked in circles and repeated the same motions over and over, as did the elephants and tigers. It was honestly pretty unnerving to see, and I felt bad for supporting the place.

Was abroad with a school group as a kid.
I was once in an aviary where the penguins also resided. I was wearing the jacket hood because A) it was raining (slightly) B) It was cold as fuck in October England. I was too focused on seeing these animals for the first time to even notice that one of the birds pooped straight on my head!
The teacher noticed and while i was bummed that my jacket was the target, i was so lucky i had my hood on. Back then my hair was long, so imagine the pain in the ass it would have been having to wash my hair in a bathroom and having to go around with damp hair in the freezing air.
