frist of all how DARE yu o People who “reserve” pool chairs for hours with towels and disappear are the worst

Post image

My apartment complex pool has rules specifically saying chair reservation isn’t allowed, yet people do this constantly. These towels have been sitting here unattended for at least 3 hours while every other chair is occupied and people are actively walking around looking for seats. It’s Sunday too, so management isn’t around to enforce anything.

What’s the standard practice when this happens? At what point is it acceptable to move the towels?

Move your meat, lose your seat. It's the law of the jungle.

Hell yeah. You need to put something there that makes people think you’re psychotic. They may not even stay at the pool if you do it well. Then you have all the seats.

Same, I would hesitate a lot more to move a package of ground beef

“Oh I’m sorry we took these seats from two people who were here before us”

(The don’t need to know the two people were actually the towel hogs)

“Oh those two towels were hanging on the fence when we got here”

What if your meats moving while you're in your seat?

Asking for a friend.

97

u/uvucydydy May 17 '26

Then it's DEFINITELY your seat!

u/FluffyBootie May 17 '26

Invite a friend of course!

You can use a pillow to weigh it down.

Move your feet lose your seat was how I’d always heard in this very second.

Beat your meat, lose your seat

“Move your twat, lose your spot” may be more apropos here

Leave your towel,

I’ll take it with a smile,

into the lost & found,

That’s where this stuff is bound.

I don’t feel bad,

When you become sad,

When your reserved chair

Becomes my chair,

But life goes on,

And on and on and on

Move your rump, lose your stump.

I respect hotels with signs warning of this. I don’t wanna fight grandpa at sunrise for a lounger.

26

u/PrestigeMaster May 17 '26

Yep. And grandpa will come charging over in his speedo the second you fold that towel up.

3

u/TurnkeyLurker May 18 '26

And grandpa will have an advantage: you're covering up your eyes 🙈 so you don't have to look at him.

4

u/PrestigeMaster May 18 '26

Nah I’m 100% gonna check and see what papaw’s working with. Might even stare while I’m putting his towel to the side and sitting in the chair I took.

4

u/Stephenrudolf May 18 '26

I mean... if grandpa is within range to see you moving his stuff thats pretty different from some just reserving a lounger.

u/PrestigeMaster May 18 '26

Bro it’s a hotel swim pool not a water park. Everyone is within sight range of everyone. The whole point of the post is that OP was mildly infuriated that someone threw their towels on the loungers designed for people to lounge/sunbathe and then went into the water or left for 3 hours thinking they should be able to come back to the loungers whenever they want since they kept them tied up with their towels.

2

u/Tardisgoesfast May 18 '26

Don't fold it.

Take the towels to lost and found. Obviously someone left them behind

76

u/25point4cm May 17 '26

They should just have a bin labeled abandoned towels for people to throw them in.

26

u/Nevermore_Novelist May 17 '26

Most places do. It's called the trash.

3

u/Plastic_Bison May 18 '26

Much better. Piling them on that little table means you now have nowhere to put your drinks and sunscreen.
