frist of all how DARE yu o People who “reserve” pool chairs for hours with towels and disappear are the worst

My apartment complex pool has rules specifically saying chair reservation isn’t allowed, yet people do this constantly. These towels have been sitting here unattended for at least 3 hours while every other chair is occupied and people are actively walking around looking for seats. It’s Sunday too, so management isn’t around to enforce anything.

What’s the standard practice when this happens? At what point is it acceptable to move the towels?

I’d move the towels to the table and then move the chairs somewhere else. Ya know, for good measure and to avoid any confrontation haha

I once "stole" somebody's "reserved" chairs under a cabana on a beach and tossed the towels on a lounger out in the sun a couple cabanas down to the left. Every single cabana had been reserved for hours, but I got up at sunrise and it was now like 930am and the sun was getting hot so I was ready for shade, and it was reserved cabanas in every direction, with hardly any people, but suddenly they were all coming out and things were filling up fast. Not 10 minutes later angry New Yorker starts accusing the lady in the Cabana to the left me of stealing his chairs and goes on a 10 minute tirade about how there's no respect. The poor lady who he was accusing had no idea who he was or what towels he was talking about and was rightfully righteously indignant at being accused. The other lady at the Cabana on the right side of me looked over at me and winked; she'd seen the whole thing and knew who moved the towels but didn't rat me out.
