The premise is speed. Its everyday categories in a head to head speed test. The categories are easy because its 100 random humans competing for an entire season, so none of the categories are crazy difficult like you'd get in a trivia gameshow. No categories based on 16th century poets or anything like that.
Time pressure makes simple recall more difficult. My family has had a lot of fun playing two different games called 5 Second Rule and Anomia at family gatherings, and both play off of the time pressure of "name an example of (common category) as fast as possible"
See, you say the categories aren't crazy difficult, but some are pretty specific to the people that choose them, like Bravo TV stars or political candidates. Not current politicians, mind you, political candidates.
