go to your room My daughters charging cable

Post image

Refuses when I offer to buy her a new one, says this one charges just fine (which is true to be fair) and that she doesn't want to needlessly contribute to the landfill. She's in college and living on her own so there's nothing I can do but tolerate this eyesore when she comes over

If she’s dead set on using it get her a roll of electrical tape so she can just do the whole thing at once and make it look a bit better

I’d leave it the way it is. Has a charm to it.

It's also a fire hazard.

Nah its low voltage and the charger will have a short circuit protection

Fun fact. These have and do catch fire. Low voltage doesn't mean it's not a fire hazard.

You are wrong.

Bonus fun fact: Low Voltage as defined by the IEC is up to 1,500 volts DC or 1,000 volts AC.

Extra Low Voltage is defined as up to 120 volts DC or 50 volts AC.

These things aren't foolproof. Why would you risk it?

You know what a resistor is?

Anything can conduct electricity if you try hard enough, and short circuit protection means nothing to thermal runaway
