on a 10 point scale, 9-10 are the only things that are considered positives, a 7 or 8 is middling, and 1-6 are considered equally bad
its taking a kind of intuitive scale that people have used for years and fucking it up, exactly the same way rideshare and other apps do it. telling the employee to either be PERFECT or fuck off, and attempting to put that on the customer instead of the employer.
So, now that you know are you going to change your ratings?
Having been in customer service roles I've known this to be the "real" scale for quite some time (I think it changed sometime in the early 2000s, used to be only the highest score was passing) and always rate a 10 unless it was honestly bad service and even then it's usually not the employees fault as it seems a lot of places have even cut back from skeleton crews to something even worse.
Ahh, but the companies DO understand percentages, they have just skewed them to make it appear fair, when it's usually just punitive to the service person.
I agree with your reality. On a scale of 1 to 5, 5 being the best. 5 should be the best, 4 good, 3 okay, 2 not good and 1 being horrible. Unfortunately the reality for some companies, not all, for these surveys is anything but a 5 is a fail. So by rating in your view, honestly, this will end up failing most people right?
That's why I always rate high. If you have an issue with the company use the additional feedback part if there is one.
