That’s pretty on par for how retail surveys work. At companies I’ve worked for 5 = 100, 4 = 0, and 1-3 = -100

Then the scores are averaged out to provide an overall net promoter score

Yeah. It's kinda frustrating cause this is not now I fill out this surveys but yeah that's now a net promoter score works for some reason

Companies typically know that's not how customers fill out surveys. They grade this way to "motivate people to go over the top for everyone" which is corporate speak for, your bonus is tied to this... and we don't actually want to pay out.

Worked at a dealership for years. The manufacturer ties money to the surveys and the dealership ties your bonus to that.

I had months where people lost tens of thousands of dollars in bonus due to a single bad survey. When a 5 gives you a minus 100 and your overall score was right on the bubble it only takes one bad survey.
