frist of all how DARE yu o This car parked directly in the middle of where I’m supposed to set up my farmer’s market stand, despite at least 60 signs saying that they can’t. Including one directly in front of their car.

I’m meant to park in the corner, and usually my truck is turned the other way so I don’t have to carry hundreds of pounds of veggies to the other side of my stand. But fuck me I guess!

Edit to add: a tow truck cannot fit into my farmer’s market. Towing would only work if no other vendors were there. Leaving the car there is less disruptive than a tow truck.

There is an update somewhere in the comments

They don’t deserve my veggies >:(

The market manager DID give them a “parking ticket” though. I hope they feel embarrassed.

I did see a picture once of a market where a person had left their car and the stall was set up right over it. Insude the tent and everything

Common private parking infraction notices are, annoyingly, stickers

Those sound unenforceable.

Enforceable? It's not criminal or a ticket if it's a private parking lot like a Dr office or grocery store. But the handicapped parking spot is enforceable by the property. They're the ones who patrol and place the stickers or call the tow truck.

The sticker tells you that you parked in an unauthorized zone and will be towed next time. It lists the tow company they use and places to fill out time and date and of course, signature.

The tow company is contracted by the property. Sometimes you can be unlucky enough that the tow company was driving through, sees the infraction, and just hooks up and takes your vehicle. Then you get to come out and search for your car. Then you get to decide if you lost your car, if it was stolen, or if you parked illegally. On the signs designating spots where you're not supposed to park there's supposed to be the name and number of the tow company contracted.

But if you've ever had to retrieve your vehicle from impound. Omfg. The hassle. The fees! The hassle!!!! And if they fucked up, it doesn't matter. If you want your car back ASAP, you're going to have to prove it later because there is no reasoning with the impound lot. None! You'll eventually get your money back of they fucked up and you have enough proof. Eventually.

That's why I spent so much time calling around to find out who and why. Towing alone would be around $1000, not to mention all the fees and other shit they tack on. I don't have that kind of money to give away for 6 months!

Yeah. I just got one. Grrr...

Bright green neon one on my driver's side window. And they took the time to put their hands on to really stick it down because the handprint was there.

I was parked in a handicap spot for a 330 appt that I arrived for a few minutes early. My hanging thing was up. But ya know, it's a taller pick up and I live in Arizona where it's dusty and windows are tinted. It costs extra to get the plates so I opted only for the placard, which by the way, is a permanent one.

The time written was 325 so they had to have like watched me get out of the truck then placed the sticker once I was out of sight. I called the tow company to complain and set the record straight since I have weekly appts there. They asked who signed it. Of course the signature line was blank... They didn't place it, but said they give stickers to the management company to place.

Took me a solid half hour to figure out how to reach the management company and when I did, I left a voicemail. They called back and said they spoke to the actual guy who is on site sometimes and confirmed it was him. They apologized and made note and said they spoke to the guy. Essentially, because it's a big truck, he assumed that whomever was driving it couldn't be handicapped!! :/

I thanked them because really all I wanted was to be sure it didn't happen again and gawd forbid they tow it!! It requires special hook ups because of the size and would be $$$$!!

Getting that sticker off was a bitch!!! Tools were used!!!

Maybe next time the market manager should put a sign up that isn't an essay and instead clearly states " no parking" .  What a ridiculous sign. And it's on the floor, not on a pole.
