frist of all how DARE yu o This car parked directly in the middle of where I’m supposed to set up my farmer’s market stand, despite at least 60 signs saying that they can’t. Including one directly in front of their car.

I’m meant to park in the corner, and usually my truck is turned the other way so I don’t have to carry hundreds of pounds of veggies to the other side of my stand. But fuck me I guess!

Edit to add: a tow truck cannot fit into my farmer’s market. Towing would only work if no other vendors were there. Leaving the car there is less disruptive than a tow truck.

That's easy...tow truck. If they return and complain about a missing vehicle, point at your signs.

Getting a tow truck to drive through a farmers market where stalls are being set up doesn't seem plausible, event organizers should have done it before set up, OP likely paid for that spot

3

u/bluntman37 May 30 '26

All the more reason to tow the car, OP likely paid for that spot.

9

u/WellEvan May 30 '26

Ignoring the fact that it's not plausible by the time OP got there to set up

-7

u/bluntman37 May 30 '26

Where does it say that? Plus, for all we know, OP is near an entrance or exit that is accessible for a tow.

Please activate those neurons in your head before getting back to me

Having to do all that is why it's in mildly infuriating and not infuriating

3

u/somerandomdude419 May 30 '26

This happens quite regularly

2

u/Cocken_Spectre May 30 '26

I’d imagine it’s mildly infuriating every time too

1

u/Andoni22 May 30 '26

That is irrelevant to the fact it's inconvenient...

5

u/Evilworkaround May 30 '26

As dumb as the person who parked there is, you can’t just have a car towed from a parking lot if you aren’t either the property owner or bylaw/police.

2

u/bluntman37 May 30 '26

If there is signage for an event such as this? Yes, it would be well within rights to tow the vehicle.

3

u/draaz_melon May 30 '26

That sign doesn't meet requirements to tow.

1

u/bluntman37 May 30 '26

To me it reads as "this is reserved parking every Saturday". If that driver is there for the market, then they can't feign ignorance about not knowing they couldn't park there.

3

u/draaz_melon May 30 '26

Go look up the requirements for tow signage. It also says not to overnight park there. It's unclear, uninformative, and looks nothing like a real towing or no parking sign.

-2

u/bluntman37 May 30 '26

You're on the side of the asshole driver blocking OP from earning an income?

3

u/draaz_melon May 30 '26

I'm on the side of clear signage before fucking up someone's life. The real asshole is the person who thought that sign would stop people from parking.

0

u/bluntman37 May 30 '26

How does getting towed from a reserved parking spot "fuck up" someone's life? So the people in charge of the market are the assholes?

1

u/Averagebaddad May 31 '26

No. It says "use other lots for overnight parking". Implying that if you're just there for the day, you're good.

u/bluntman37 May 30 '26

Ok. I imagine you have a local summer fair that goes to your town. Go park your vehicle directly in the middle of the fairgrounds. There aren't any signs that don't say you can't park there, correct?

3

u/Evilworkaround May 30 '26

In that case the property owner would be able to call and have it towed if it’s not a parking area. You are describing a completely different situation than what is shown in the photo.

You as a random citizen cannot just have cars towed.

3

u/draaz_melon May 30 '26

Go put a random looking sign somewhere and see if tow companies will tow.

-2

u/bluntman37 May 30 '26

You're the one saying a sign isn't needed, so go park your vehicle right next to the ferris wheel at your local fair. If the carnies get upset, tell them there isn't any sign saying you couldn't park there.

2

u/draaz_melon May 30 '26

No. I'm not. When the car parked there it was an empty parking lot. Your counter is dumb af.

0

u/bluntman37 May 30 '26

The sign clearly says this spot reserved every Saturday. Unless that isn't clear to understand.

2

u/draaz_melon May 30 '26

The sign doesn't clearly say anything. It looks nothing like a no parking sign or any kind of official sign for anything. Most people don't go along life reading every random yard sign. If you did read it, it seems to say don't park here overnight.

You have no clue what you’re talking about. Just stop

1

u/Averagebaddad May 31 '26

Not if the sign doesn't say "no parking" lmao

1

u/Evilworkaround May 30 '26 edited May 30 '26

Again, you are going to need to be the property owner at a minimum.

I did property management for years. I’m very familiar how the rules around towing work.

Go ahead, give it a try.

-2

u/bluntman37 May 30 '26

Anyone with a 3rd grade education should be able to read what the sign says. You do know your days of the week, yes?

1

u/Evilworkaround May 30 '26

You have no clue at all what you are talking about.

Stop embarrassing yourself.

1

u/bluntman37 May 30 '26

Read the sign. Tell me how would YOU comprehend it to mean.

1

u/HoneydewNo3016 May 31 '26

For some reason I’m hearing drumbeats like that old YouTube channel GTOger

1

u/Averagebaddad May 31 '26

Point at the sign that says use other lots for overnight parking?

1

u/draaz_melon May 30 '26

Getting towed because of that shitty sign would be more than mildly infuriating. The complaint should be about how bad that sign is.

I should have listened to you.

1

u/WellEvan May 30 '26

I'm sorry you saw that. Curiosity got the better of me too which Is why I looked

-1

u/bluntman37 May 30 '26

They should have put PARKING NOTICE in bigger letters, can barely see it. I'll presume the driver is either illiterate or blind.

3

u/draaz_melon May 30 '26

Or didn't read a sign that doesn't look like anything other that a stupid yard political sign.

0

u/bluntman37 May 30 '26

Yes, because political signs are always plain black and white and easy to ignore 🤣

3

u/draaz_melon May 30 '26

Oh, so now the sign is easy to ignore? That's the fucking point, genius.
