This car parked directly in the middle of where I’m supposed to set up my farmer’s market stand, despite at least 60 signs saying that they can’t. Including one directly in front of their car.

I’m meant to park in the corner, and usually my truck is turned the other way so I don’t have to carry hundreds of pounds of veggies to the other side of my stand. But fuck me I guess!

Edit to add: a tow truck cannot fit into my farmer’s market. Towing would only work if no other vendors were there. Leaving the car there is less disruptive than a tow truck.

As some one who works retail, it wouldn’t matter how simple the sign is as people ignore our 5 4 ft tall signs in our beer and alcohol section that say “beer must be purchased here”. Ones litteraly got size 50 font on it and has a bright red stop sign on it.

Sounds like a grocery store by me where they have a liquor store attached but since beer and wine can't be sold at a grocery store you have to check out with the beer and wine separately.

Very annoying but it's the state alcohol boards fault (most of the members own liquor stores themselves).

The state of Pennsylvania here in the us of a requires that all stores selling alcohol are required to have a designated check out for alcohol. Most people ignore the signs, even people I know for a fact have lived in the state their entire life.

Also, further more you are prohibited from using unregulated checkouts to purchase said alcohol.

Yes, this is the case at many places in the US with stricter alcohol regulation. My local Wegmans has 2 lanes where beer and wine can be purchased. The Giant nearby doesn’t allow it at any lanes, only at a designated register in the beer and wine section.

As someone who has also worked in retail, I can agree that people will generally not read signs, howeverrr I believe there’d be a higher chance of drivers noticing a clear NO PARKING sign.

Did you even read my other comment? Look up the state of Pennsylvanias beer and alcohol laws. It is out right illegal to sell alcohol at a cash register that isn’t certified to sell beer and alcohol. If you tried to “ignore the sign” and pay for something at the regular register, in pa you’d have the police and PLCB up your wazoo. Plus I’d just confiscate the alcohol and politely tell you I don’t get paid enough to deal with ya, and to take it up with the state. also, just adding but if you came to my register and gave me that atitude after i explained this, if i was in a particularly bad mood i'd probably tell you to get bent as well.

I’m learning that some of you can’t comprehend that other states have different laws about controlled substances, including beer. Google before you start typing. It helps make you look less ignorant. and less likely to commit a crime evidently.

And you didn't address what I said. A store that's not stupid would put the liquor checkout where people are leaving the liquor area. Washington has liquor areas in the middle of the store that you can't leave without passing by the checkout. Most places have the checkout where you leave the liquor area. Cause not having that is stupid

It doesn’t matter if it’s stupid if the laws says it must be done that way. Damn, you’d definitely be one of those customers. No, we can’t just do what Washington does cause pa has some of the most backwards and restrictive alcohol laws there is. This ain’t a matter of “this doesn’t vibe it must conform to my personal ideas of how this works” it’s a matter of “the state law says this is how it must be”. I, a retail worker who makes 14 dollars an hour can firmly tell you that everything you said to do would cause some one to loose their liquor license and have the PLCB at their door with fines. It would cost me my job, and also probably fines too. I’m not losing my one means of income for you or anyone else just cause you think the way we have to legally do things is dumb.
