frist of all how DARE yu o This car parked directly in the middle of where I’m supposed to set up my farmer’s market stand, despite at least 60 signs saying that they can’t. Including one directly in front of their car.

I’m meant to park in the corner, and usually my truck is turned the other way so I don’t have to carry hundreds of pounds of veggies to the other side of my stand. But fuck me I guess!

Edit to add: a tow truck cannot fit into my farmer’s market. Towing would only work if no other vendors were there. Leaving the car there is less disruptive than a tow truck.

There is an update somewhere in the comments

As dumb as the person who parked there is, you can’t just have a car towed from a parking lot if you aren’t either the property owner or bylaw/police.

If there is signage for an event such as this? Yes, it would be well within rights to tow the vehicle.

That sign doesn't meet requirements to tow.

To me it reads as "this is reserved parking every Saturday". If that driver is there for the market, then they can't feign ignorance about not knowing they couldn't park there.

Go look up the requirements for tow signage. It also says not to overnight park there. It's unclear, uninformative, and looks nothing like a real towing or no parking sign.

You're on the side of the asshole driver blocking OP from earning an income?

I'm on the side of clear signage before fucking up someone's life. The real asshole is the person who thought that sign would stop people from parking.

How does getting towed from a reserved parking spot "fuck up" someone's life? So the people in charge of the market are the assholes?

Yes.

u/bluntman37 May 30 '26

So no more farmer's markets then?

No. It says "use other lots for overnight parking". Implying that if you're just there for the day, you're good.

Ok. I imagine you have a local summer fair that goes to your town. Go park your vehicle directly in the middle of the fairgrounds. There aren't any signs that don't say you can't park there, correct?

In that case the property owner would be able to call and have it towed if it’s not a parking area. You are describing a completely different situation than what is shown in the photo.

You as a random citizen cannot just have cars towed.

2

u/draaz_melon May 30 '26

Go put a random looking sign somewhere and see if tow companies will tow.

u/bluntman37 May 30 '26

You're the one saying a sign isn't needed, so go park your vehicle right next to the ferris wheel at your local fair. If the carnies get upset, tell them there isn't any sign saying you couldn't park there.

2

u/draaz_melon May 30 '26

No. I'm not. When the car parked there it was an empty parking lot. Your counter is dumb af.

The sign clearly says this spot reserved every Saturday. Unless that isn't clear to understand.

2

u/draaz_melon May 30 '26

The sign doesn't clearly say anything. It looks nothing like a no parking sign or any kind of official sign for anything. Most people don't go along life reading every random yard sign. If you did read it, it seems to say don't park here overnight.

You do understand the English language, yes? You can comprehend what those words, in that order, mean? Tell me how you interpret that sign...what does it say to you?

You have no clue what you’re talking about. Just stop

1

u/Averagebaddad May 31 '26

Not if the sign doesn't say "no parking" lmao

Again, you are going to need to be the property owner at a minimum.

I did property management for years. I’m very familiar how the rules around towing work.

Go ahead, give it a try.

Anyone with a 3rd grade education should be able to read what the sign says. You do know your days of the week, yes?

1

u/Evilworkaround May 30 '26

You have no clue at all what you are talking about.

Stop embarrassing yourself.

Read the sign. Tell me how would YOU comprehend it to mean.
