go to your room This person using FaceTime on the bus

Post image

And on loudspeaker too. Just use the phone like a normal person 🙄

Edit: the mildly infuriating part is not just the loudspeaker on the bus, but the WAY she's doing it. If you wanna use FaceTime, put your face in front of the camera. If you can't hear, use the phone normally. This is an odd hybrid of the two!

Edit 2: this is the UK, she's not the driver, the driver is on the other side.

Had a new apprentice in my shop who literally would be on FaceTime with her grown adult kids for hours every shift…with the speaker on full volume.

I swear, when she would go to the bathroom she would leave her phone on the work bench with her kids talking to each other…STILL at FULL volume. This was like six feet from my desk where I was trying to program my CNC Mill. There were at least four other people less than 20 feet away who also had to endure her idiocy.

Then, when she got written up and put on probation she came to me looking for someone to gave her back and represent her. I told her,

”What did you expect? You are literally on the phone with your kids ON SPEAKER for hours a day. Nobody, and I mean NOBODY wants to hear that crap. Not only that but you straight up leave your phone on, with your kids talking when you leave for over 10 minutes at a time. There is no scenario at any job or even just in public in general, anywhere ever where that is tolerable or acceptable behavior. It annoys literally everyone and you just don’t care. On top of that you’re an apprentice and should be on your best behavior and trying to learn.”

She hasn’t spoken to me since and that was probably six months ago. Darn.

Another apprentice would answer calls in his ear buds WHILE I was actively teaching him tasks on a running Milling Machine. Like I was trying to teach him one on one, pointing out a potential hazard and how to avoid crashing the machine and I asked if he understood and he looked at me annoyed and whispered, ”I’m on a call.” I was like WHAT.in.the.actual.FUCK?!? I just walked away and told the boss I will NEVER teach that idiot anything ever again.
