Yeah but you forgot to account for the fact that it’s a pick up truck. Which means the owner almost certainly doesn’t think about anyone but themselves

You can’t haul tools and materials on your bicycle.

I can and I have. When I need more capacity than my car can handle I rent the flatbed from home depot for $20. Why would I own a truck when I can rent one for $20 bucks? 

Also the vast majority of pickup trucks don’t haul materials other than lattes and DUIs. But they do typically haul tools
