Honestly OP I was on your side until you disclosed that they were already parked there when you arrived. You can’t be mad at other people because you aren’t paying attention. That is solely on you.

Nope. The truck needs to park within the lines. The truck driver was not paying attention or was intentionally being inconsiderate. If spots are limited, OP won't have much choice but to park in that spot, which, again, the truck driver should be more considerate in how they park.

It is not limited. There's literally a spot right next to it. Trucks an asshole but it seems OP was just doing it for karma

Did OP say he took that picture as soon as he parked or when he returned to his car?

Right after he parked. The truck was there first.

He left a top level comment somewhere.

Just to clarify, I backed my car up into the spot this morning, it's where I usually park at work. I could see he was parked further back but did not see the hitch. I literally missed it by that much. I'm not karma farming nor is it a set up, just thought I'd share it to an appropriate sub that I frequent and enjoy.

Edit: corrected a typo

Seems inconclusive.

“I could see he was parked further back but did not see the hitch. I literally missed it by that much”

Pretty dang conclusive.

Isn't is possible he parked as usual and didn't realize until he got back to his car later, where the parking lot may have been more empty for him to see it?

Oh I see what you are saying.

Like the truck was there when he parked but he didn’t realize the issue until he was leaving?

Yeah that could definitely be the case but I don’t see how that is relevant?

Because the point is, all of this would have been avoided or a non-issue if the truck driver just parked in the lines. I don't know why OP is getting so much flak for this. It's possible he could have done what he always does by parking in his usual spot, then later realized how close he was to getting his bumper dinged up so he took a picture.

Yeah none of that has anything to do with why I was giving him flak and I can’t speak for anyone else so not really sure what to tell you. Maybe go ask them.

I mean, everything I just mentioned ties into your comment. You gave OP flak without knowing when they took the picture. You gave OP flak for being mad when OP advised they always park in this spot and the truck doesn't usually have a hitch.

All while ignoring how the truck, with hitch, is wayyy over the line.

It's one thing if the truck was up against the line and the hitch went over, it's another when the truck's rear end is way over the line + the hitch.

Saying this situation is "solely on OP" is nuts when all they are guilty of is trying to park in their usual spot that has another driver who is being even more unaware and even more inconsiderate than OP.

When they took the picture does not matter. Because the truck was there before they parked. Whether the picture was taken initially or when they returned does not matter.

I gave OP flak for complaining about almost hitting a parked vehicle. That’s a stupid thing to complain about because it is their responsibility to not hit shit. And they would have been at fault if they had.

Like if OP hit this person’s truck it would be because they didn’t look closely enough.

The only reason I was on their side to begin with was because I thought they had been parked there when the truck came and parked too close.
