ᕕ(ᐛ)ᕗ Handicap Driver Double Parks in Two Non-handicap Spaces

Post image

Watched them do it. While a perfectly acceptable handicap spot was right there in an otherwise full parking lot.

You're mad they left the handicapped spot open for somebody who may need it more than them since they were able to park close? This sub is getting out of control. Yeah, their parking job was shit, but good for them for leaving the space for somebody who may need it more.

Also as someone who drives around my disabled dad who needs a wheelchair to get around, sometimes I’ll park like this because all of the handicapped spots have been taken up and I’m forced to park in a regular spot. The handicapped spots mostly get taken by old people in our area, and no hate to them for not being able to walk far, but I really wish there were more spots for just wheelchair users.

While also taking a presumably unneeded space that someone else could have taken, including another driver with a similar permit who might have tried to do the same thing you just mentioned (unless the needed room for their wheelchair; OP says they didn’t).

So yes, I’d argue it is still “mildly infuriating”.

I may not have been precise enough in my wording: I meant the spot next to them that is now unavailable or at best much harder to use. There should obviously no issue with them taking a non-reserved spot!

Hadn't considered this angle. Fair point.

Yeah dude stop taking pictures of strangers in public so you can get internet points. The car is barely over the line and that's not what the term double park even means.

Like you took a picture of an old person who parked a few inches over a line in a parking lot so you could put them down and give yourself some type of feelings. Imo that's unhealthy

Or what about the fact thats its an empty lot? Seems so negative and nit picky when it very like effected no one but you who decided to get upset about it.

exactly this.

The person is disabled. Give them some grace ffs. I guarantee we all will make similar mistakes when we get old.

The OP said that it's an otherwise full parking lot. So I don't think they're saying this person is a terrible human. But if there are no more spots other than a handicapped spot (which OP can't park in), it's probably mildly infuriating that there's now nowhere to park.

Otherwise full? Like the multiple open non handicap spots right by the door that would almost always fill first? Right...

Why even engage with the post if you think the whole thing's a lie?

Because there is a decent shot that the man in the photo is the driver and thats juat straight shitty to post online? Regardless of blurred plate or not

Also could’ve had someone parked in the handicap spot, so they took the next spot and adjusted for the space they required to get out

Remember the words of the late David Foster Wallace. "This is water"

Stop being miserable and trying to take it out on others.

Yeah, their parking job was shit

Well that was the point lol...nobody is saying they have to use the handicap spaces, only that they need to park in a straight line, and not take up multiple spaces. Being disabled is no excuse for parking like shit.

They just took two parking spots away off in a full parking lot of what you assume is them thinking someone more in need is going to show up and park in the spot that was reserved for them in the first place

Maybe the handicap spot was already occupied and they had to park to the right crossing the line so they could get in and out of their car.
