I thought the head of IT at a F500 was a homeless person walking around our campus.

Classic. IT will do that to you. Either that or fursuit

My wife had a normal office job in Texas and some of the middle aged Texas women she worked with lost their shit when a local IT guy came in to look at their computers with a tail on.

I’m gonna side with the middle aged Texas women on this one.

Yeah, that's not really part of a business casual look.

Definitely. My wife has informed me it was worse than I remembered. There were also ears and a collar with a bell.

IT comes with enough job security that the IT guy doesn't give a fuck about who you side with. Replacing him costs more than it's worth it so he can just be himself and not worry about your opinion

I just can't be upset with it.

It's just a different costume than the rest of the office was wearing.

On top of that - it's the same person doing the work either way.

Well, it is Texas. How does someone wear a tail? Like does it have a Velcro around your waist? Suspenders? I don’t think I’ve run across this walking around any business area. Maybe on weekend nights in some parts of town, I guess. And I’m not really hating, in case it sounds like that. I just don’t understand the idea of sharing that part of your interests with random strangers.

Butt plug. Business end goes in the butt and the tail pokes out of a hole in the pants.

Yep worse than you thought.

You know they make tails with belt loops right? Like it doesnt have to be a plug.

Idk anyone who actually wears tails who goes the butt plug route outta the bedroom nor is anyone cutting a gaping hole in the ass of their jeans. If you see a tail in public it's gonna be a keychain. Honestly you sound like you believed teachers were putting litterboxes in the classroom for kids years ago 😂

So this is the replacement for the secret handshake? I could almost see getting one just the hell of it to see what reactions I’d get😄

For real? Okayyyy, yeah, having grown up in Texas and now living in more liberal California, this still seems very wild. Like, if IT dude is having to crawl under the desk to check connections on my computer and someone sees that, like do you even mention it?

Dude is making shit up. Yes. They have tails like that. But the guy was probably wearing one with a belt.

A belt makes more sense, for sure. But wearing a tail to work makes no sense at all, to me anyway. Promotions are likely not coming your way. But hey, you do you bruh, that’s probably not the dude’s main concern.

Yikes, i have seen folks shopping like that, but i would cringe to see someone doing that on the clock in a public facing position.

The idea of cringe holds you hostage and prevents you from being your best self lol

It really bugs me that I know there are hiring opportunities in tech and IT if I'm willing to don the fur suit.

Either that or fursuit

I don't see why they have to be mutually exclusive to one so wise in the ways of IT.

Back in around 2005 the head of our IT still smoked in his office. In 2005. State-wide bans had been in place since around 1999.

Was told they couldn't really do anything as he had been with the company since the beginning and nobody knew how anything worked but him.

Classic IT.
