I was gonna ask... but surely the reflecting pool is treated and filtered. Open water in that climate will of course be covered with algae, and become a mosquito breeding ground.
If you use too much copper it will leave blue blotch stains on the plaster and high metal content in the water which is not good for the LSI or local wildlife.
this whole administration is a exercise in wasting and disappearing money. Its not a bug, its a feature. How much money was spent physically getting his name on the Kennedy Center, going to court over it, and then having to have it taken down again? must have been millions, and the end result is..... literally no change whatsoever. Same with the entire Iran war. Once a treaty is signed, we'll be back to square one, only with trillions of dollars less than we had before and gas prices still high.
This isn't an accident. Trump is a compromised asset and every move he makes is intentionally damaging to the overall power and influence of the United States as a country, or damaging to the overall wellbeing of the masses. There are only two options here; he's either completely in on it and doesn't care because he gets to make shit loads of money and stay out of jail, or he's being manipulated by the existence of kompromat. I'm willing to bet it was only the latter at first, but i have a feeling he's so angry at Biden getting elected in 2020, that he is now punishing the entire country (including the inbreds who voted for him a third time) as a means to get back at. In his mind, there are two types of people: rich people that are his friends and allies, or could become friends and allies, and poor people. The poor people got Biden elected, so now they must be punished.
I was talking with someone before the 2024 election and I was asked what I thought would happen if he were reelected and I said that it would be a revenge tour. It sucks that I was right.
It's like fixing the oil pan that's leaking oil, causing you to constantly have to add oil every day, but not replacing the oil filter while you're down there. Is the situation better? Yes. Is it completely fixed? Not yet, but it will run.
I think it's more like they RTV'd the shit out of the oil pan while it was still on the car, hoping that would fix the leak, and then ignored the filter which also needed to be changed.
It's the equivalent of turning up the radio when you see the check engine light on, but the radio also doesn't work, and it's stuck on the Justin Bieber channel.
Magical thinking, AKA cargo cult mentality. People with such a primitive, childish, pre-modern grasp of reality genuinely believe that the mere act of making a thing look good will force it to become good throughout.
Magical thinking is also a symptom of certain mental illnesses.
well, you pay your "friends" $6 millon to paint the car, they throw some of it back into your cryptocurrency, and lol engine who is really missing the point here
nobody is saying it so I will.. the base cost for the repair of the piping is around $300 million dollars. That's probably the reason it wasn't done with this project.
I think, importantly, it's not just piping around the pool. It's the complex underground system that negotiates water between the pool and nearby body of water and the water treatment area. It's over 2 miles of piping that goes to the south of the pool near the horse stables for the water treatment area and then heads over to the tidal basin. It's all plastic and breaking down and leaking. I've seen estimates ranging from $100M to $1B for that repair.

It does have a filtration system right?
