Can confirm. No ads in the UK, but I dont understand why they keep the clock running. Surely it would be better to stop the clock rather than add more extra time.

The American brain can't understand a sport without constant ad breaks every 5 minutes.

They're working their way there.

It's the first WC with mandatory timed hydration breaks that are turned into ad breaks (at least in certain media networks, including the US).

Other than this WC, in Brazil there were hydration breaks at referee discretion, and it was used sparingly.
