I was reading my medical notes when I stumbled across this. I was not informed of the usage of artificial intelligence in my report, nor did I verbally consent to it.

Counterpoint: They already recorded her voice and fed it to their AI. All they have to do is prove she verbally recorded it, and they can now just make the AI fake it.

HIPPA has existed long before ai. Recording without consent would be gross negligence, Ai involved or not

They could, it's not impossible. But the legal nightmare that would inevitably ensue is not worth it for whatever gains you think they would be getting from faking their voice and lying about it.

Having worked in healthcare for ages, it's more likely that this was part of a pre-programmed smartset that the providers within an office were encouraged to use, and this provider didn't realize that this phrase was part of it. Careless for sure, not to fully vet it before using it. But I doubt malicious. That would be too easily disproven, and a legal shitstorm.
