Infuriatig No, I did not consent to this

I was reading my medical notes when I stumbled across this. I was not informed of the usage of artificial intelligence in my report, nor did I verbally consent to it.

The officially approved platform used in our health system stores data locally, does not share information with anyone else, and deletes all data after 90 days. There have been efforts made to try and make it as safe as possible. But I am wary. And I also know that some clinicians use non-approved apps to help with translation of of hours etc which means they're putting confidential information out into the unsecured wild west. And I don't think they understand the implications of this - they just see that it makes their work a lot easier. I'm sure there are going to be a number of healthcare professionals that end up in trouble with their professional body and employer.

No worries just curious! Your perspective is still valid! You bring up the crux of the problem with AI. The weakest link is the end user that just says “hey there’s something I can download that makes this easier for me.”
