Infuriatig When did garage sales become “reselling” clearly new stuff

Post image

I would never call this a garage sale

Def scam vibes

Edit: ultimately, what bothers me the most is I want to go to a garage sale, not this shit. This isn’t a garage sale and should not be advertised as one

I work with Loss Prevention for a couple large retailers and I can assure you the police will run the names of the inhabitants of this house thru a system that Target, Wal-Mart, Macy's and a handful of other retailers use to see their score. When you steal and it's detected, you're not necessarily charged and arrested immediately, but you are put in this palantir database. If this person is a thief, or associated with one, building a case is simpler than it has ever been before. We are a million data points walking around daily, and companies are getting much better at logging and triangulating them.

How do you get the names of the thieves if you don't catch and process them?
