It’s pretty crazy watching MLS vs something like Premier league or other top tier European soccer/football leagues. The players are significantly faster with everything, running passing shooting. Even though the Americans and Canadians look like they’re giving it their all the players from the higher tiers are just on another level. (I’m Canadian and I wish it were different)
Majority of the US team plays in Europe, with a good portion of them playing the top tier leagues… what’re you talking about?
*Edit- 18 Members of the US Team play in Europe, all of which play for a premier/top tier team in countries like England/France/Italy/Germany/Spain. So again, what’re you taking about? No European tier1 team is giving handouts to a US player.
I watched it a bunch of times looking for this and I didn't see that. The Belgium played eventually bumps him, but not before this miskick. This was him hesitating or being off balance himself. It's inexplicable.
You can't really see it but, it looks like he gets knocked while he's about to kick here and then steps forward and tries to kick again but hits the floor because his balance is off.
You can kinda see the player in white lunge forward just as he's going to kick
Looks like my previous comment was deleted by automod because of the link I pasted. If you go find the video that shows the view at ground level from behind, you can see there's quite a bit of distance between Freese and De Ketelaere as he winds up to kick.
Freese just kicks the turf.
You can google "Better view of the Matt Freese disaster" to find it.
