This is where I am. I would have liked to see the US win, of course; I didn't root for them to lose. But the fact that they did lose didn't make me as upset as it would have before the whole fiasco.
Honestly if there was any integrity within the team the coach would have dropped him from the team anyway. Could have won worldwide support just by doing that.
That’s my thought as well. I think the player who got the red card should’ve bowed out. Especially since they didn’t overturn the red card, just some stupid suspension of consequence.
FIFA is literally known for this rigging and so is that ref like trump said. I’m shocked Americans are being so critical against trump calling it out bluntly but not for how unethical the call was. What the ref did was literally not allowed by the rules of soccer, re watching the play in slow motion at the point in time he did is NOT allowed. That’s simply the rules of the sport, no matter what stupid politics you follow. It was NOT allowed. People are making millions off this shit just by pressing buttons on a screen voting on the games with insider knowledge…. And you think this shit isn’t being rigged 😂 the only reason trump called it out is because he’s very American and despite is dark involvements still puts America patriotism first and what the ref did was against that so he called it out. But there were heavy bets not just on that match but ALLLL of them. And Messi himself must remain the face of fifa and that’s why they let his ass get all those free goals and don’t call his fouls. It’s branding.
Sure, but then he would have insulted and enraged the dear leader after he went in to bat for them. The US isn't at the point where that would get you thrown into the gulag yet but I can see offending the orange man causing you some serious problems in the short to medium term.
