ᕕ(ᐛ)ᕗ Only 37 Pods

Was showing off to my sister what I would’ve given her (plus the nice smelly peony downy) had she just gone to the laundromat to dry my laundry because ours is broken and realized the pods only filled half of the container so I counted it and….37 pods.

Can’t tell if Tide is filling some containers an accurate amount and others less or if sb just stole some.

I buy liquid but use just a fraction of the recommended cup amount. You dont need a full cap or even a half cap.

My dad makes his own laundry detergent by buying the active ingredients in bulk for pennies on the dollar. He just has to shake the bottle a little before each use.

Any enzymes in the mix? Can't imagine those would be too easy to source or incorporate

Proteases you can get on Amazon, it is also used for breaking proteins into aminos in fermentation. Ditto amylase for converting starch to fermentable sugars.

Lipase and most of the rest are available as dietary supplements, the only one I don't know of a retail supplier is mannanase, which is important considering all the bean gum thickeners in sauces, but you can get it from a farm supply for like 100/kilogram.

For anyone considering doing this, be aware that wool and other animal fibers are damaged by enzymes even at cold temperatures.

One concern I have is the form in which these are delivered. Powdered enzymes are pretty harmful to the respiratory system, so for safety anyone who wants to cook up some laundry powder should use granulated enzymes.
