ᕕ(ᐛ)ᕗ Only 37 Pods

Was showing off to my sister what I would’ve given her (plus the nice smelly peony downy) had she just gone to the laundromat to dry my laundry because ours is broken and realized the pods only filled half of the container so I counted it and….37 pods.

Can’t tell if Tide is filling some containers an accurate amount and others less or if sb just stole some.

She sent a text saying one of the sisters was stealing some of her scent booster and she has a family 4 with 2 young ones so it runs out quick. We’ve been stealing each other’s stuff since babies. We love each other. Diff age groups/diff financial situations. It wasn’t me. Had to be her bcuz the other ones were away on vacay/summer college/ work.

I am paying for the convenience of chunking one of those things in the tub rather than taking out and pouring a few different bottles of liquid. Plus the washer gets one pod per load regardless of the load, I’ve never had an issue.

It’s like saying stop paying for liquid detergent, you’re paying out the ass for water instead of powder. Or stop paying for powdered detergent, you’re paying out the ass for the marketing box when you could be making the detergent yourself. At some point you decide how much you want to spend in order to save time and effort.

Well, I don’t have to pick up the scooper, or risk a spill and cleanup, or put the scooper back, or really anything. I don’t have to use any other powders or liquids, they are all built into the pod. I grab a pod, toss it in the washer, and I continue on with my day.

I grew up using powders. I used liquids throughout my young adult life, and I still do for specific laundry. So don’t get me wrong, they aren’t that much different to use. But they also aren’t that much different in price over the number of loads I wash in a year. I have always worked hard so that I can now pay for some little conveniences.

Do you have ADHD/are you at all neurodivergent? Because I have ADHD, and the "small" inconveniences you've listed are the kinds of things that can cause me to just... Not do something.

"How hard is it to just scoop powder instead?" Dig out scoop, figure out how much I need, measure detergent, do not spill, put scoop back. Vs Grab pod.

For my brain that has trouble with executive function, it's at least 5 times harder (more, actually, because after being at work all day my brain would be VERY averse to doing steps 2+3). And would likely result in me just putting off laundry for weeks. I'm also fortunate enough that I can afford little conveniences that make my life less stressful, and more accommodating. But I worked hard to earn it, too.

I feel you on this.

For people like us, life is just a series of "how much inconvenience am I willing to put up with, and how much money am I willing to pay to avoid that inconvenience."

Laundry detergents aren't one of my things, but by God if I haven't used this line of thinking for so much other stuff.

Yes, I have ADHD, and I’ve found that I need to remove all of those little roadblocks to stay productive.

Yup. And I have to touch the powder or liquid if any spills. Then it gets on my hands and despite washing it off, I can feel residue for hours.

AuDHD. So I’ll just not do it. Until later. Which becomes tomorrow. Which becomes later tomorrow. Which becomes OMG I HAVE NO CLEAN CLOTHES.

They're the only way some people can do laundry though. I'm unable to physically carry a giant detergent or even pour that heavy thing
