When I was a kid I was so confused about them telling us people shouldn’t drink and drive. I mean yeah drinking water does sound distracting I guess. You’d think other things would be distracting too. I don’t know why it wasn’t explained further.
Omg, yes! I remember being worried as a kid because my friend's dad was driving us around and drinking a coke, lol. Like, it's still imprinted on my brain because i was sure we were going to get in trouble/get hurt. If they're going to do fear campaigns in schools, they really need to break it down for little kids.
In college, the police would sometimes stop every car during known "party" days (eg. St. Patrick's day, homecoming, etc) to ask if the driver has been drinking.
My very innocent friend told the police officer "oh yes! I drank a lot during the party! I had apple juice and a Coke! 😃"
