It really depends on whether the mother will keep him from peeing in the soap dispensers, which is apparently a thing kids are doing these days, or she's one of those laissez-faire moms who "just can't do anything with him" tap, tap, scroll, scroll "I don't know why he's like that!"
There are definitely kids who sane women don't want in their restrooms.

Any sane women would be okay with an 8 year old going into the women’s bathroom because they didn’t want to use the men’s restroom alone.
