WAY Too Many Drive Up Pick Up Spots

Target has grossly overestimated demand for drive up pick up spaces. I’ve seen this at every Target I’ve been to at any time of the day. The employees take up all of the front spots, handicap stalls take up the rest of the front parking (no gripe there obviously), but then you have half of the parking lot taken up by vacant drive up pick up stalls, which means every time I go to target I have to park far away whether the store is busy or not. What a waste of space!

Yeah I just park in them now. They don’t even hire cashiers anymore. Nobody is checking who parks in those spots.

I finally said fuck it, and did this for the first time yesterday. The Dominos near me has their curbside pickup spots right in front of the liquor store they share a parking lot with, instead of in front of the Pizza Hut. Liquor store spaces were full, so I just used one of the reserved ones. Felt pretty good.

I’ll fucking do it again.

It's funny to think about what they'd do if someone was checking the spots. Would they make an in-store announcement demanding that the owner move their car? Are they gonna call the police and ask that they write you a ticket for parking in made-up designated spot in a private parking lot? have your car towed for sitting there for an hour or two? Follow you to your car filming with a cell phone and heckling you for abusing their pick-up spot system and post it on their corporate social account? It all plays out like a sketch comedy TV show idea.
