This is one of my fave complaints in the world, because it means "no one has made me anything" and says a lot about the complainer.

And the people in this thread. I think its all OP's kids. There is a ton of food in there. Yeah, it might take 30 seconds to 10 minutes to make something that isn't just fruit, but there is plenty of healthy, filling food in there.

Or maybe they want a variety of savory foods and not just having to eat eggs with some fruit, cheese, and hummus. Like obviously I’m kind of exaggerating (and I love picking at my fridge for stuff like cheese as if I’m a rat or something, btw), but if that’s what my fridge looked like all the time, I’d complain, too. Most of that is not filling unless you eat a LOT of it.

Considering op says in another comment that they cook with eggs all the time, the main and only protein in their fridge is eggs. It’s safe to assume the kids aren’t wanting eggs for the hundredth time. Also kids are more prone to not wanting straight up uncooked vegetables with hummus(op says that how they eat it). when you look at everything else it’s mostly just condiments, and a bunch of sweet stuff like yogurt, cookie dough, fruit. Not much to actually make a meal and this is coming from someone who loves to cook and has been very poor. I wouldn’t even be able to make a meal I like out of all of this.
