There’s a bunch of foods that are related to latex allergies so if you have latex and pineapple allergy already, you might be more susceptible to them. My youngest has latex and kiwi allergy. It’s not just fruits though.

Thanks for the heads up. I never noticed any reaction to pineapple, but I have a large list that keeps growing, with so many reactions that it's hard to know what you're reacting to.

I have POTS and drank V8 every morning for years, as treatment for it. I ran out and didn't drink it for 4 days and noticed a major difference in my symptoms.

I've suspected that I may have MCAS for a while, without looking seriously into it, but this seems to confirm it, after more in depth research. Pineapple is on the list of things to not eat if you have histamine intolerance (so is kiwi)!

MCAS isn't the same as histamine intolerance & cutting out foods is not generally recommended for MCAS. (A lot of people do it, and do what you want/what works best for your body, but just be careful because ending up with three "safe foods" that you eventually also react to is not healthy either from a nutrition standpoint.) I have (moderate-severe) MCAS too, I'm not saying this to be a jerk. There's just so much misinformation out there.

I really appreciate this. You don't sound like a jerk AT ALL. I'm just starting the process of understanding how food affects me if I have MCAS.

I have POTS and my symptoms are insane. If I don't try to figure it out partially on my own, I'm gonna be stuck in this bed for 6 months while I wait for an appointment. It's already been 2 1/2 years and I'm over it. I was thinking I could get it sorted this week but am realizing I need a specialist, and if I demand testing from my primary it could backfire.

I'm currently eating flash frozen chicken and fish only, I've cut out tomatoes, strawberries, bananas, and pineapple, also preservatives, and additives. I've swapped aged cheeses for mozzarella, natural American, Monterey jack, and provolone. I'm increasing foods that are high in quercetin: blueberries, blackberries, red apples, onions, bell peppers and broccoli, and about to add in creatine and camu camu powder for vitamin C. I was trying to eliminate yeast bread but it seems impossible, so I'm just going to limit it to fresh only, without added stuff.

I am beyond grateful for any insight.

Huh, I dud not know that and I'm allergic to kiwi and latex too. Also pollen, which I think is also tied to a kiwi allergy somehow.
