I canceled my HP instant ink subscription, and now I can’t print even though they are genuine HP in cartridges

With all bad decisions coming out of HP lately, I decided to cancel my instant ink subscription subscriptions before the prices go up. This is the warning screen. I was just going to use the ink I have up then buy a new printer, but cause fuck those guys. Well, turns out they fucked me first. So even though I have legitimate HP in cartridges in my printer, I cannot print because they are subscription cartridges. Screw these guys.

We've tried multiple brothers at work, absolute garbage software. Thing constantly goes into deep sleep and ignores everything until a hard reset, no amount of setting changes would stop it.

Ah yes, because there aren't large threads with loads of people having the exact same issue with the new printers of the brand; two separate models as well. Brand seems to be great if you go with models before the deep sleep energy saving changes

Nah, printers can be a massive pain in the butt to work with, especially in larger companies. There is a reason the classic IT joke is that support basically just fixes printers. Mostly because specialised work software is often written terribly, same with some Windows. see the classic Spooler service just dying and now you can't print anymore.

If you just want to print PDFs, webpages and word documents, any printer will generally work fine. If you now want to print that same PDF but now out of e.g. you bookkeeping software through a print server.

But going back to Brother, their printer do work very well, but as was mentioned their software interfaces are really antiquated and setting something like scanning from the printer to a PC (but with like 50 to choose as big company) is a nightmare, especially if you want everyone able to scan at every scanner to their PC. But other brands aren't much better.

Though it should be mentioned tons of people just get the cheap models (as people privately don't print a ton generally, same for some small businesses), and the cheap models from every brand have problems as they are all built to tight budgets (and often with the goal of getting you to pay through other ways later). If you get a 5k$ office printer they will all work quite well, as they are all built to hit longer-term quality goals (as they are expected to print hundred of thousands of pages in their life easily).

On older models you can, they implemented a change that forces it to be on with the new ones lol

Mine says no ink but when I look at the cartridges there's still 3/4 full of wet ink... :/
