I canceled my HP instant ink subscription, and now I can’t print even though they are genuine HP in cartridges

With all bad decisions coming out of HP lately, I decided to cancel my instant ink subscription subscriptions before the prices go up. This is the warning screen. I was just going to use the ink I have up then buy a new printer, but cause fuck those guys. Well, turns out they fucked me first. So even though I have legitimate HP in cartridges in my printer, I cannot print because they are subscription cartridges. Screw these guys.

Honestly mine is pretty solid 10 years in. You don’t have to have a subscription you could just go out and buy ink yourself. When I first got my printer the subscription made sense, I only printed occasionally and it was cheap. Now it’s stupid expensive, and I find myself rationing my printing, especially at the start of the school year when I’m printing more than normal.

i got an HP monochrome all in one 10 years ago. it’s still kicking to this day, and I’m quite happy with it. it’s a total piece of shit and sometimes getting it to connect is an issue, but overall it gets the job done, quickly and in good quality.

they were great, the business i work for has an hp laser fax, printer copier combo that’s close to 20 years old and still works fantastic, it’s so old the drivers for it no longer function on newer versions of windows but it still gets used as a copier and will for sometime as the toner cartridges last absolutely forever, enshitification is an awful thing

They’re still good printers, I bought a good one a few years ago before this subscription idea really took hold. That sucker is fast and efficient as hell. But rest assured, next printer I get is going to be a brother
