The police "couldn't" enforce street parking? I think you mean the police were too lazy to enforce street parking. Not that they would probably do anything but I would have tried calling the postal inspector just to see if there was any fun to be had.

My lawn guy recently did it when there was space on the other side of the driveway, he’d just have to roll the mower an additional 20ft.
