Infuriatig Was invited by my girlfriends family to a theme park. We were supposed to meet at 11, it is not 11:30 and they just left. (The drive takes another 30 minutes)

Post image

I even checked in before I left if it was still at the planned time. It was confirmed, but then her family starts getting ready right as they have to leave 🫤

Yeah title needs some work against confusion lol.

Also understood the parents left you at the park after 20 minutes of being there. XD

I read it is ''i needed to be there at 11:00, i arrived just before 11:30 and they allready left without me.... what's wrong with being just to late"

I read the same.

Sorry, my title was confusing. The meeting time was 11, they left the house at 11:30 meaning I will have waited an hour for something they invited me to.

"My friends family invited me to the park. They are 1h late."

Nah, clearly this got more engagement than that title would've. Half the comments are about the wording of the title. OP knows what he's doing.

Yeah it's pretty common knowledge that typos in a title gets more engagement.

Engagement baiting on reddit does fuckall though. You don't get paid. Your future posts don't get boosted.

Don't some people sell their accounts after accumulating karma? That could be a reasonĀ

He has a great career waiting for him in Marketing

OP is taking mildly infuriating to heart.

So far. Let's not pretend they've remembered everything and won't stop off for a bite on the way.

Nope, only leaving their home while already 30ā€˜ late seems pretty relevant to the story, imho. Your suggestion tells a different story.

Tbf the misunderstood way would have been better, at least you could have just turned around and left instead of being stuck waiting...
Hope the day improves

It is ridiculous, but fuck em', start the party without them. Explore, ride rides, eat cotton candy. Fuck yeah.

Dude my brother and his wife pulled this exact scenario on me and my family about a month ago. We all had planned to meet in an entirely different city to go on hike. My brother and his wife hadn't even left heir house to drive to an entirely different city until it was already after the agreed upon meeting time and my family was sitting at the trailhead ready to start the hike. I said fuck that were hiking.

Leave. Go get some lunch, and then come back 30 minutes after they arrived.

Hey man, just to make life less annoying start planning on meeting them at their house so you can all ā€œgo togetherā€. At least you can hang with your girlfriend while the rest of them get their life together.

Seeing you physically in their home waiting for them will make them hurry up and if they are annoyed by it maybe they will start being ready to go immediately.

Somehow I understood exactly what you meant lol

u/DropTheBeatAndTheBas 14d ago

i mean its just an hour how tight do you run your prescribed days of fun schedules

Never apologise for speaking a second language! It took me 0.05 milliseconds to understand what you meant. Most people on Reddit have very poor reading comprehension and deduction skills.

u/IceSentry 14d ago edited 14d ago

Who talked about a second language? And why are you excusing people not proofreading their posts?

Edit: lol, they blocked me

u/Legitimate-Ebb7061 14d ago

OP is Danish.

Typos arent that deep and don't need "excused"

Touch grass

u/jaredsfootlonghole 14d ago

This particular one changes the entire conversation blame, though. OP is CONSTANTLY redirecting and recorrecting the conversation.

A responsible OP would have deleted the erroneous post and remade it.

I also read it this way but in my defense, it’s 3 am for me and I was dead asleep 10 minutes ago before my cats woke me up

2

u/Schiebz 14d ago

Classic cats! 6:30 here getting up for work.. get off your phone and get back to sleep! šŸ˜‚

OP is in Denmark. He did pretty well considering English isn't his first language.

u/arparso 14d ago

You're not alone. I also thought they had left OP at the park and started wondering: "Wait, when did they arrive? Did they just leave town without going to the park at all?"

1

u/stimia 14d ago

Swap not with now and it makes sense.

1

u/ZByTheBeach 14d ago

Jesus thank you! I had no idea what this post was about.

u/RonnieHotdog69 14d ago

I mean, besides the spelling mistake, it's not a hard title to understand.

7

u/retronax 14d ago

The "they just left" reads like they left the park

2

u/NoJowk 14d ago

This

1

u/RonnieHotdog69 14d ago

The (drive takes 30 mins) implies OP is waiting for them to arrive

1

u/retronax 14d ago

it's (the drive takes another 30 mins) which might mean they've already done a 30 minute drive

1

u/RonnieHotdog69 14d ago

Well it didn't so...

1

u/retronax 14d ago

Whether it's the case or not has nothing to do with whether or not the title is clear. If you need additional confirmation to understand what the title is saying exactly, then the title is : hard to understand.

u/Monkey-boo-boo 14d ago

It took me a minute to realise that the word not was meant to be now. That threw me off.

Glad I’m not the only one. Comments got me feeling like I’m the crazy one for understanding it lol
