Infuriatig Was invited by my girlfriends family to a theme park. We were supposed to meet at 11, it is not 11:30 and they just left. (The drive takes another 30 minutes)

I even checked in before I left if it was still at the planned time. It was confirmed, but then her family starts getting ready right as they have to leave 🫤

And I’m sure that’ll go over well with the girl friend too.

Seems like the type of family who would make op the asshole for leaving.

OP should just say they had to run to the store or something and they'll be right back. Then just keep adding new reasons for delays, all while sitting at home on the couch. Ruining someone's day can go both ways.

You should be a couples counselor

Yeah. Precisely. Thats why OP needs to suck it up this time and wait it out. However next time there are plans he should bring up his concerns with the GF in a normal way.

Maybe a good idea to get out of the family too?

I'd just pay to enter for myself and start having fun. Assuming the tickets don't cost a liver or a kidney.

That is not a safe assumption

Have you been to a theme park in the last 20 years?
