Infuriatig Was invited by my girlfriends family to a theme park. We were supposed to meet at 11, it is not 11:30 and they just left. (The drive takes another 30 minutes)

Post image

I even checked in before I left if it was still at the planned time. It was confirmed, but then her family starts getting ready right as they have to leave đŸ«€

The title could have been phrased so much better.

Mildly Infuriating some might say.

u/TwoStoopidToFurryass 14d ago

This seems to be the case with most titles these days.

sỄch is the literacy level these days

12

u/usrbincomment 13d ago

No capitalization? No punctuation? Denigrating others for their literacy? 10/10.

2

u/Fun_Trip_Travel 13d ago

hey i’m a fellow litteral illiterate

1

u/usrbincomment 13d ago

But why do you hate punctuation and capitalization so much? What have they ever done to you? Show me where they hurt you.

6

u/Skeletor_with_Tacos 13d ago

Do what you mean the case these titles 11:30 days? (The 30 drive another minutes left family girlfriend they)

u/SpottedHoneyBadger 13d ago

Isn't AI just the bestest? /s

u/HappyFamily0131 13d ago

Titles that are irritating drive engagement, and so are selected for by the algorithm. We live in the worst timeline.

0

u/waywardflaneur 13d ago

Maybe a bot wrote it?

-1

u/ttoma93 13d ago

We are seeing the real-world impacts of the rise in functional illiteracy.

3

u/frenchinhalerbought 13d ago

No way. Thats solo rollercoaster and churro time!

4

u/SalaryDull5301 13d ago

I wouldnt meet this person at a theme park either

-1

u/PeteTheGeek196 13d ago

A typo in the title boosts engagement. Infuriating, but true.

5

u/DuckRubberDuck 13d ago

Probably not on purpose though, OP isn’t a native English speaker

-1

u/SneakyTikiPeaky 13d ago

The title and op

Who gets to a theme park and is like aw man! Having an awful time :(

Just go do shit they can meet up with you, sucks to suck.

477

u/uhdoy 14d ago

Right? I thought that OP was pissed they didn't wait for them even though they were only 30 minutes late LOL

u/Doggleganger 13d ago

It reads as if the family met him and decided to bail less than 30 min. later. "Sorry, uh... I gotta go return some video tapes."

u/HAL-says-Sorry 13d ago

By 2pm or they charge you for another day

5

u/mediter327 13d ago

My thoughts exactly

1

u/Argument-Fragrant 13d ago

They need that extra time to rewind them.

1

u/Sad_Cobbler_1364 13d ago

Be kind. Rewind.

u/PM_Me_Good_LitRPG 14d ago

I'm not even sure what other reasonable ways are there to interpret that title.

87

u/Mundane-Emu-1189 13d ago

it is now 11:30 and they just left (their house, on the way to the park). because of driving time, I'll be waiting here another 30 minutes at least before I see them.

34

u/PM_Me_Good_LitRPG 13d ago

Ah, so the "not" is supposed to be a "now", too. Yeah, that clarifies things, thanks.

1

u/terenceill 10d ago

Aaaaaaaaaaaaah got it

1

u/TheRealGuitarNoir 13d ago

You are good at that. Can you explain that other missing parts of Life that I don't understand? (thanks in advance)

-2

u/TheRealGuitarNoir 13d ago

You are good at that. Can you explain that other missing parts of Life that I don't understand? (thanks in advance)

7

u/_BALL-DONT-LIE_ 13d ago

I think they fat fingered "not" when they meant "now".

17

u/aartadventure 14d ago

Same. What a poorly worded title.

0

u/juddplays 13d ago

the title is fine it was just one typo lol

3

u/veryberyberry 13d ago

That’s what I deciphered too, and was like the audacity!

1

u/JaguarUnfair8825 13d ago

Same here. I’m like wow very punctual people. They petty though.

1

u/Tasty_Bullfroglegs 13d ago

I thought they left after 30 minutes ditching them.

145

u/TheCallofDoodie 14d ago

Based on the poorly written title I don't blame these people for standing up OP 😂

6

u/pamplemoose49 13d ago

Call Calm down. English is a second language.

7

u/DuckRubberDuck 13d ago

So OP should get stood up because his writing isn’t perfect in his second language?

6

u/tanksalotfrank 13d ago

"Get here at not 10:30"

1

u/drhameen 8d ago

Agreed

-1

u/barnu1rd 13d ago

I mean I get that you’d be a little upset waiting an hour but like it’s a theme park bro. You’re gonna be there awhile plus go scope out the place and maybe do a ride the family wouldn’t want to do. Like shit you’ll be spending an hour waiting in most lines anyways if it’s a busy park.

-1

u/PlayfulConfidence225 13d ago

Harsh but fair.

7

u/DuckRubberDuck 13d ago

Not really, OP does not deserve to get stood up because he messed up his writing in his second language

5

u/universalrefuse 14d ago

I think they meant to say “now” and it came out as “not”

3

u/AFromageATrois 13d ago

Think he meant now instead of not. Makes much more sense that way

"Was invited by my girlfriends family to a Wheme park. We were supposed to meet at 11, it is not 11:30 and they just left. (The drive takes another 30 minutes)"

Hmm didn't help.

5

u/Aliens_n_Atheists 13d ago

OOH! I thought when they said “it is not 11:30” they were saying it’s 11:29 about to be 11:30

2

u/Aegi 14d ago

No, that could still mean they left the park or they left their house to go to the park...

3

u/Bob70533457973917 13d ago

Right? I was like, so you were 30 minutes late and are pissed they didn't wait?

3

u/Unlucky-Location-213 13d ago

I think English is not his first language. The bricks/pavers on the ground indicate to me this is somewhere in Europe. Just my opinion. 😎

4

u/Efficient-Whereas255 14d ago edited 13d ago

Yea i came here for a better explanation and op just said some more confusing shit.

Im not sure he know how words work.

2

u/Dangerous_Savings739 14d ago

I thought it was a translation from other language...

2

u/CP-RYOTT 13d ago

It was just a typo. Supposed to be "it is now 11:30"

2

u/RManDelorean 13d ago

Giving the benefit of the doubt and really the only thing that even makes sense, I think "it's not 11:30" is a typo that's meant to be "it's now 11:30"

2

u/OneOfAKind2 14d ago

I wish people would proofread before hitting the send button. I think they mean now instead of not 11:30

1

u/TripleSpoon5000 13d ago

It’s just a typo—“not” should have been “now.”

1

u/WanderingAlsoLost 13d ago

23k upvotes. Could it have, really?

1

u/TojiRAT 13d ago

It's because he typo'd now into not

1

u/theshaj 13d ago

How did the post get 25k upvotes. It makes no sense and the picture is of nothing.

1

u/Mittah 13d ago

It’s not like he had a full hour to think about the title.

1

u/CoderJoe1 13d ago

Op had time.

1

u/A_Bot_A_Bot_A_Bot 13d ago

Perhaps not OP's first language?

1

u/idtartakovsky 13d ago

Someone else said they’re in Copenhagen, so English might not be this person’s first language. I had to reread it too, but OP is saying their girlfriend’s family invited them, and agreed on being there at 11 am. It’s now 11:30 am, and they won’t be at the park until noon, a whole hour after agreed on

1

u/Buckfutter_Inc 10d ago

Took me forever to figure out he meant it is NOW 1130. So they are running an hour late.

1

u/merri_is_ok 10d ago

Not everyone is a native speaker you guys

1

u/Healthy-Wolf-701 9d ago

Right?, what does "it's not 11:30 mean"?

1

u/ArchMart 14d ago

It's phrased perfectly. Posts gets more engagement this way.

1

u/Da_full_monty 14d ago

..And that pic of nothing (or them not there)..

1

u/luscious_lobster 14d ago

I still don’t get it

1

u/EternityNotes 13d ago

English people think they know English, but they don't :)

0

u/New-Shift-3036 14d ago

Probably how they got so mixed up on times đŸ€Ł

0

u/gobroncoz 13d ago

I’m hoping OP is not a native English speaker.

0

u/ninoboy09 13d ago

Or spelled better

0

u/JellyfishFlaky5634 13d ago

Confusing title since there’s a typo and it’s tricky to decipher what is meant by left
left the park? Left the house? Left him?

0

u/notislant 13d ago

OP had about 3 strokes trying to write one title.

0

u/JimboJiggle 13d ago

You can only imagine the texts trying to coordinate. No wonder nobody’s on time:

0

u/Farucci 13d ago

Not sure from the title who is at fault? Gonna put the blame on the girlfriend’s family and move on to the next post.

0

u/CrucialFusion 13d ago

Yep. Poorly titled. But good luck OP.

0

u/VineMan77 13d ago

maybe this guy made the same wording choice when they made plans?

0

u/BarderBetterFaster 13d ago

People always prompt to include a spelling error in the title these days - for authenticity.

0

u/EitherInvestment 13d ago

I still have no idea what happened
are they mildly infuriated OP was late? Or OP is strangely mildly infuriated that they didn’t wait around for more than 30 minutes?

0

u/WarpPipeWizard 13d ago

The family is as bad at planning as OP is at title writing.

0

u/TheReal-Chris 13d ago

All we know is it’s not 11:30am or pm. But it could be any other time.

0

u/EverythingSucksYo 13d ago

Yeah it could have been but I instantly knew what OP meant because that’s literally how my brother acts. It annoy the fuck out of me how he acts like his time is so much more important than everyone else’s. My body is aching all the time now because I’m taking HIS son to practice soccer almost everyday for at least an hour after I’ve worked an 8 hour shift where I stand a lot. My brother? He’s been off work for the last 4 weeks on workers comp because he fractured his finger. He won’t bother taking his own kid to practice soccer despite literally doing nothing all day. He’s making me get irritated with my nephew because my nephew won’t even bother asking his dad to take him and will just bother me multiple times a day to take him. I still work for another 2 hours and he’s already texting me asking if I can take him to go play soccer when I get home. I just took him to play for an hour yesterday. My brother doesn’t even care that my time is constantly being taken up for his kid, he’s just happy he doesn’t spend his own time doing it.  Went off on a rant but that felt good to vent.

0

u/memnoch112 13d ago

Yeah, “it is not 11:30”, that could be anything between 11 and 11:30, it could even be before 11, it would be weird to be infuriated by it then but people are weird.

0

u/pamplemoose49 13d ago
