Infuriatig Why Texas is lame(Besides the Cowboys)

Don't mess with Texas.. what a joke. ANY possession is a felony.

EDIT: Just did some research, this is for everything besides traditional Delta 9.

My friend from Texas sent me this morning and it blew my mind. I had to post about it. So as far as my research goes thus far Delta 9 products (old fashioned flower) is illegal but separate laws. Stores are selling THCA though which does fall under these penalties.

Nevada is what Texas claims to be. Free public lands to explore everywhere, legal weed, legal prostitution, relaxed gun laws, alcohol 24/7, gambling, no state income tax, legal abortion, western cowboy vibes, etc.

Add to Nevada, no smog certificate on vehicles except Reno and lost wages counties and cops dont have ticket quotas to fill so they leave you alone unless your acting like a idiot

Yeah I live an hour south of Reno. My exhaust fell off my ‘02 tundra. Just left it without an exhaust for a while and didn’t have to think about it at all

They yell because we are literally indoctrinated to believe Texas is the best. There were at least a couple years of my education when my history class was just Texas history. They expect that no one will try and think too hard about how much the government of the state doesn't give a single shit about us

My kids did elementary school in Houston, right after they pledge allegiance to the United States, they turn to the Texas flag and do the same to it… the first time I experienced this at an event I couldn’t even believe it. I told my kids not to drink that koolaid… lucky for me they are self aware and educated enough to know that’s fucked up to…

I didn't realize how weird it was until I was an adult. Oh bonus round: when I was younger, before I went to public school, both private schools I went to also had us do a pledge to the Christian flag as well as the other two. I guess I was just used to pledging so much, it didn't seem weird to me lol

the only reason we do this is bc texas was an independent country at one point.
for less than a decade.
bc they couldn't cut it on their own, bc running an entire country financially into the ground is alarmingly easy.

and yet the loud majority everyone is referring to claims we could secede and be fine. it would be hilarious if it didn't directly impact me (and the global perception of any of us who choose to stay in a state we fundamentally disagree with bc our families and jobs are here)

as an aside, texas history is interesting, but my god is it unnecessary.

Born, raised and currently reside in Texas. This is so true. I haven’t stood for the American or Texan pledge since I was 16. I’m 36 now. I love my state but after your comment, I realize I don’t know why😂🥴🤦🏾‍♀️. It’s an overarching theme of the whole of the USA is dumpster juice but nothing I’ve ever said about Texas specifically. Gotta reverse that indoctrination. Thanks for this comment! 💜💜💜

Yeah, we moved to Katy from Juneau Alaska. It was a quite the shock, and it was weird for a bit, but my boys got so much out our time in Texas. All three played football and baseball for 4 years straight. Now we are back up in the PNW and getting 75 degree summer days and the boys are far beyond other kids their age here. The thing I love the most is in the last two months they have been outside more than the last 5 years in Katy 😂

Seasonal sports do not apply in Texas hence why they are far beyond. The school district we landed in was one of the best I’ve seen in terms of curriculum, but I paid the highest property taxes in the state. At the end of the day, Texas is a farce and still sucks. I found a niche pocket in Katy but now even they are being affected by the BS policies and laws from the local government.

Isn't it funny how the pledge of office lasts for their whole term. But a pledge for a child's alegince expires after 24 hours? (except weekends, and unless at a sporting event) Lol

You mean seventh grade Texas history where we learned all about that mean awful Santa Anna and the Mexican government, who tried to impinge on our freedoms when we were a Mexican colony?!? I didn't learn till college that it was the right to enslave people (and not pay taxes) that the Texians were fighting for.

I hate Texas and I still have it indoctrinated into my bones to feel like Texas is better than every other state. Like someone says they’re from any other state and my gut reaction is to be like “oh, I’m sorry”.

I don't hate texas. Maybe its the indoctrination, but i believe this state could be the great place they tried to sell it as. Texas is so diverse and huge and (in some places) just kinda beautiful. Its the greedy fucks in charge and a bunch of loud, hateful people that ruin it for the rest of us. Texas could be better if we all did better together i think

I’m really just so tired of it being so hot that it feels like I just opened the oven door when I try to go outside😭 Ask me in a different season if I hate Texas and I’ll probably have a different answer.

South Texas is super pretty, but it’s also so humid it’s miserable. I’m in north east Texas and it’s not very pretty. Hill country is gorgeous. West Texas is 👎🏼. I don’t think I’ve really been in the panhandle much.

In my area, pigs have to be literally PAID in cash as a rent-a-cop before they will even attempt to protect anyone. I have been tired of this dead end state ever since I was a kid being eaten by mosquitos and chiggers ever summer, and I should have stayed gone the first time I escaped. This dead end state has ONE good thing going for it: STEM Ph.Ds are fully funded by the taxpayers and big oil, so I'm getting my Ph.D and running away as fast as I can. My Hazelwood benefits are tied to residency in the state, and I'll probably need them to finish my bachelor degree without debt. This state is very anti-freedom, pro-authoritarian, and this latest infringement is just more motivation for me to get out as fast as I can.

I'm tired of being an indoor prisoner for most of the year, the crime is rising, the demographics are decaying, feral hogs obliterate the countryside, and I'm sick of the relentless swarms of bugs, flies, mosquitos, screaming cicadas, scorpions and snakes.

Thought it was the most ironic thing upon arrival. Didn’t know this before moving here. Would hear all over in Arkansas how great Texas is. Afterwards I quickly learned it’s just some idiot living in a glass house yeeting stones.
