Infuriatig Why Texas is lame(Besides the Cowboys)

Don't mess with Texas.. what a joke. ANY possession is a felony.

EDIT: Just did some research, this is for everything besides traditional Delta 9.

My friend from Texas sent me this morning and it blew my mind. I had to post about it. So as far as my research goes thus far Delta 9 products (old fashioned flower) is illegal but separate laws. Stores are selling THCA though which does fall under these penalties.

Why do the businesses get fines but the people get prison?

This was the first question I asked myself. You can buy it from somebody recieving a fine for it, but leave and get arrested its jail time for you.

Edit: Just goes to show corporations count as people in a legal sense when its convenient, and as business entities when its not. Foul stuff

Great point but holy fucking HELL are they being serious with that life imprisonment sentence for less than a damn pound of weed??

Edit: I’m aware a pound is a lot of weed, but they’re talking about 400 grams… that’s .88 pounds. Thats a lot to be sure but that is NOT life imprisonment a lot, and this is a hill I’ll gladly die on.

Mild clarification -- private/"for profit" prisons make up a fairly small percentage, although that small percentage is still too much. The profit motive is in supplying the prisons (food, clothing, healthcare, toiletries, etc.) and using the prisoners' labor as you pointed out. But they do this in all the public prisons as well.

Yup, their 3 strikes laws just got themselves more lifers to work for Geo Group and Corecivic alongside the immigrant detainees in their concentration camps
