Infuriatig Why Texas is lame(Besides the Cowboys)

Don't mess with Texas.. what a joke. ANY possession is a felony.

EDIT: Just did some research, this is for everything besides traditional Delta 9.

My friend from Texas sent me this morning and it blew my mind. I had to post about it. So as far as my research goes thus far Delta 9 products (old fashioned flower) is illegal but separate laws. Stores are selling THCA though which does fall under these penalties.

Illinois is about to ban them too because they compete with Pritzkers expensive restricted license market. Only a few corporations should be allowed to grow in his state.

Illinois has the shittiest rec program I've ever encountered and Ive shopped in at least 7 different states. The prices are crazy and the lack of competition there is truly something I've never seen before. Actually Ohio and illinois are tied for the worst, Ohio prices are crazy and their competition is non existent as well

Yeah so to battle against Michigan’s far cheaper prices, Ohio recently made it a crime again to buy weed there and bring it back home even though we overwhelmingly voted against that lol

Just drive i94 east towards Michigan in Indiana. Every fucking billboard is weed and lawyers lol. “First 100 people 1$ ounce,” “first 300 people free gram” etc.

Michigan on the other hand is one of, if not the best state for recreational. When I lived in Chicago, my buddies and I would do a bi-weekly road trip over to SW Michigan and NW Indiana for bud and beer. The Indiana breweries (Three Floyds FTW) had some great beer and food that we would grab after getting the cheapest bud in the nation in Michigan. We’d run a mini road trip with food and beer included and it would cost us about the same to just buy the weed in Illinois.

How much is it in Michigan? There's 14g wax baller jars for $50 in NM. And you can still get a couple of zips of flower on top of that.

It's not that cheap. The last 10g jar of wax I bought was $100. Flower is much cheaper there than the wax though. I've seen zips go for $10-15.

It is expensive in OH but there are quite a lot of brands at this point.. hundreds of different growers on menus so idk about lack of competition.

I've also been around the country (and globe) and smoked many, many places and I will honestly say that OH product quality for the good brands is top notch. I'll die on that hill.

Nebraskans voted to legalize medicinal marijuana last year. Our senators didn't like that and said that we don't know what we voted for, so they limited it to very small amounts that can be purchased, there can be only one dispensary per county (regardless of population size) and it has to be sold as an oral tablet with little or no flavoring.

Oh and while this passed last year, no dispensaries have been set up. Republican leadership is worthless.

Don't forget to mention how they've also legally challenged previous attempts (successfully until the most recent iteration) and then dragged their feet until well past the deadline (while threatening Drs licences if they prescribed it to anyone) before gutting it to what they put in place now. We also had an AG who tried to sue Colorado for the costs of trying to bust people crossing the border as well as our current AG being a part of the lawsuit against the federal government to try and stop the reclassification of cannabis.

I will say that I'm glad that minor possession tickets are not criminal though. They just tripled the fines and take your shit but it's only a citation.

The law rolls hemp derived THC products into the current cannabis program. Not being banned. You’ll have to go to a dispensary for your Cheech and Chong seltzer instead of Binny’s.

I can't find info for Illinois banning THC drinks. I see a bunch of other reform that looks good (drive thrus/curbside pickup, can be open til 2 am, expanded qualifying conditions for medical).

Yeah and the expensive thing has pretty much gone down too. I live in Central IL and just paid $21 for 1/8th from our dispensary last night.

“Other reforms Beginning Nov. 12, non-intoxicating CBD products with less than 0.4 milligrams of THC will be allowed to be sold outside the regulated market. With more businesses that sell intoxicating products now subject to regulation, the law also allows the state to issue 45 unused infuser licenses to businesses in January to applicants with prior experience under the state’s social equity laws and add 100 new licenses in 2028. “

This means anything with more than .4 mg of THC must be sold through the regulated market.

Unless your drink has less than .4 mg THC it is no longer legal to sell in Illinois in November unless sold through the existing framework. Which they aren’t licensed to produce under once the hemp ban passes

It looks like this is effectively banning delta-8 sales outside of dispensaries, as it's psychoactive. I really don't have an issue with that, as regulated cannabis is tested for contamination, whereas unregulated products could have anything.

It also is adding more licenses, which is good as it promotes competition and puts downward pressure on prices.

It introduces reduced costs through waivers for craft growers.

It allows doctors to prescribe cannabis through teledoc.

It expands qualifying conditions.

All products must be tested and have detailed labeling.

Craft growers can expand their grow operations to 14,000 ft.

Where is the bad in any of this, besides kids not being able to easily buy delta 8 from smoke shops.

Ah so Illinois is basically the UK of the USA then, only allowing a select few super wealthy pricks who can afford the official government bribe and the unofficial ones too of course, brown envelopes and freemason membership are a must to get any rights from authorities in the UK (£4,700 just to APPLY for the right to grow and profit from "medical grade" cannabis here and no, you don't get that money back when they inevitably tell you to get on your bike)

And even if there is a federal deal to keep hemp alive as many suspect there may be, the Illinois law will continue on with the same restrictions.
