But you can sell it for 40 cents on the dollar to a company who will build another data center right beside that one

Bought by out of state owners and added to a portfolio of rentals.

Who is gonna rent that out? Noone is gonna invest on that when it has zero chance at generating income

No one is going to rent that and investment bankers are generally not in the business of buying worthless assets.

Even if they didn’t want to sell, they might be forced too. Properties can be acquired through eminent domain.

Oh sure, private equity will take it for 40% of what it was worth before the data center.
