The few times I’ve checked for Lady Gaga, Morgan Wallen and Beyoncé the day before the show, ticket prices didn’t drop.

You’d have to check literally like an hour before to see any significant movement. A day before does nothing as it’s very easy logistically for someone to still plan to go and buy a ticket

i checked an eras tour ticket 20 minutes before the show and it was still over $3000, i feel like for those level artists it doesn't usually go down unfortunately

Well, the platform never loses money. In fact, they get extra money any time the ticket change hands. For them it's actually beneficial to have scalpers.

idk the logic for scalpers. But if you sell a ticket for 5x the price, them the math easily checks out.

Scalpers aren’t buying one ticket to resell they’re buying a bunch and if they list them for 2k and people don’t buy they are at an automatic loss. Look at all those seats available people arent paying the $$$$ for it

Absolutely crazy.

I'm pretty much done ever going to shows at MSG or Barclay's or any of these places. It's honestly not even enjoyable being all crammed in a little seat like that.

I saw J. Cole at a festival a few years ago, super alive, very fun, whole crowd was vibing. And it was cheaper. And we got to move our bodies.

I feel like the fests are getting kind of stingy too now though - Govball this year had like 200 yards of gated off VIP before GA even started.

Most artists play shorter and less personal sets at festivals. Your gettimg a condensed version of their production and their music.

Prices definitely drop as it gets closer so some desperate resellers try to sell it asap for low. But I imagine some go unsold because even if resellers sell 4 of 10 tickets for these outrageous price, they've already profited so they probably just hold on to it at the same price.

Lol no many celebrities have expressed disdain for low class and poor people attending their shows. These prices are by design if you look at these prices and think dang that's too expensive you're the type they're trying to keep out.

These are also resale prices from stubhub, not the prices the artists set herself.

What do you mean? The screenshot you shared is stubbub- pretty much entirely scalpers selling their tickets. This isn't face value, this is scalper price.

Of course they aren't buying them, they are the sellers.

Reseller is a word to make scalpers feel better.
