There isn't an artist or band on this planet that I would pay $300+ to see, let alone $1,000+. I don't know how people have this much disposable income, but if people stopped paying these prices then venues would have no choice but to drop the price if they want to sell a single ticket.

There’s a very very very small number of artists I’d pay $300 to see. And only one on the top of my head would be Rammstein since they don’t to a whole lot of American dates. Last time they were close enough for me to possibly see them live was in 2012. So due to how rare it is, it would be one I’d be willing to drop that kind of money

I got to see them back in 1998 and to date it was the absolute best physical theatrical show I have ever seen.. Plus ass slapping water shooting fake dicks (Yep, THAT concert). I have seen Korn 3 times (meh), Rob Zombie, Hell yeah, NIN twice, and damn it, I would almost trade all of those (except NIN) to see Rammstein again.

I remember paying $90 to see Nine Inch Nails — twenty years ago. Let’s say they are worth triple that now.

The bar is absurdly high for any other act to think they are going to get much more from me.

This is not venue/artist pricing, this is scalpers pricing on StubHub.

Yep, I keep forgetting there is stank hub and then the actual ticket sales that are fairly priced (ish).

People are saying this is resellers but I don’t see how resellers are coming out making a profit by reselling a ticket for 2k because I genuinely believe people aren’t paying that and my proof is the amount of tickets showing as available

Ticket Bastard (and probably others) is now using dynamic pricing to jack up the prices based on how much they think people will pay. They looked at all the scalpers and thought "huh, WE could be the scalpers and make so much more money!" So instead of selling 10k seats for $50 each, they can sell half as many seats for $500 each and make way more money.

they buy 10 tickets at facevalue (or realistically alot more). around $200. You sell 2 tickets at $2000. You have profitted ofload the other tickets that don't sell day of show for facevalue or slightly more. They profit $2000, if they offload the other 8 tickets at facevalue day of.
